what do you guys/gals think about this generations version of hip...ness the hipsters the ussually college middle class kids who have indie bands and are very fashionable but are apathedic and stuff and by hipsters i mean all of them (emos, scenesters, indie kids, etc...)
I have a daughter in her mid 20's and have met a lot of her friends. They're good people. Thoughtful, open-minded and moral. They look the way they look, and do what they do. There's probably a bit of posing in a few of them, but that's normal enough. Trying on certain attitudes and even fashions, looking for themselves. No different from any other generation in that sense, would be my guess.

That was really funny. One of the things that I've noticed about hipsters that makes them annoying to me is the fact that in SF for a while they tried to look like bike messengers. I was a bike messenger at the time so to the untrained eye I got lumped in with them. In general I find contrived weirdness an annoyance. Be it Yoko Ono, John Waters or any one of a million hipster douchebags. Stay Brown, Rev J
