Anybody have ears that are stretched past 00? I'm curious how long you waited in between sizes and what size you plan on / stopped at? Also, how did you stretch them? I've been using PTFE tape if I can't just pop the next size in.. Currently at 5/8in, my ears are starting to tilt up a bit lol so I think I may be close to stopping, even though I say that every time. Healthy though, been stretching for a good bit over a year now.
I stopped at 00. Honestly, I didn't wait very long in between sizes. I would put in a taper and wait for it to stop aching, usually a day or two but maybe add a day or two for when I got close to 00, then put in the next size. I used friends tapers and gauges since most of them have 'em. Just wiped them down with some rubbing alcohol and I was fine with it. Usually, if it was too painful for me to shove the gauge in, I would put it in far, just until it started aching (since most of the tapers I used were talon style, it was easy to slide it in about half way and have it not fall out) and once it would stop aching, I'd just shove it into place. Your ears (at least that one!) look pretty nice, I think that's a good size for you, maybe even one size smaller. I have since closed my ears up and have had no problems except that my ears can't hold very heavy dangling earrings anymore, which isn't thaaat big of a deal. I used to wear tunnels all the time too, so comfy! Have you tried a silicone pair yet?
I had some silicone 4s. They were great, and since I think I'm done here, I'll probably get a pair for this size. Thanks for the info!
Yeah, those look good! I'm currently at 00 with my firsts and ....8 with my seconds? Not sure exactly. I plan on going a little bigger with my firsts, but Idk the sizes after 00 The seconds I think ill probably stop at like 4 or 2g. The main reason I started stretching was because I love all the earrings! So much prettier than non-guaged earrings, imo.
Agreed about the nicer, larger sized plugs and that! I absolutely love organic ones from stone and timber, and the larger the plugs normally the more detail and such that is shown in them. Although the price goes up as well, but I make pretty much all my own from timber anyway so that's not a problem for the most part. I'm at 14mm in both ears now. I was at 16mm in my right though downsized to about 10mm, then slowly back up to 14 again. That's been over the period of about a year and a half. Used tapers up until about 6-8mm or so, then tape up from then. What do you mean your ears are starting to tilt up btw?
Stretching with silicone is such a bad idea, you'll tare your ears... Best bet is to buy acrylic tapers, and wait a week or two (or whenever they feel healed), then gauge up again.
i had my ears to 3/4. i would no less than two weeks change the size... until like 4 i started to use tapers... cheap home made ones for a bit made out of burnt down cheap paintbrushes and tape to make it bigger. holla.
i use mm's... I'm 14 mm now... My piercer uses a taper, once i stretched up too quickly and it got really swollen and sore, and all nasty stuff was comin out of it Theyre good now tho.. I think I'll stick with this size!
i'm at 9/16 and i may not go any larger, although i do have a lovely set of 3/4 eye of ra wooden plugs that i might keep stretching for. its taken me about 5 years of stretching on and off to get to this size, but i only stretch when my old plugs start falling out when i sleep so i dont have to use tapers or any of that.
Maybe not the BEST bet, acrylic harbors bacteria that metals wouldn't have. I mean a lot of people use acrylic but using glass and metals are the best bet, And people say that tapers cause uneven stretch, again its been done, but its not the best bet...
