Interesting thought. I don't think recreation/spirituality are in opposition. There is the "let's get fucked up" recreation (I called it hedonism) and the "let's go in this and learn something about ourselves" recreation. I made a similar thread in the Psychedelic section some time ago. My two "let's get fucked up" recreational type trips (one at Disney world, one at a friend's house) ended up being very boring because it made the world look weird and that's it. There's really no substance to those kids of trips. When using psychedelics, one needs to devote their entire attention to that experience. Just yourself and what is happening. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dd_qqhQtozc"]Social Seminar : Tom - LSD case study - YouTube ^That is how I think they should be used. "Winter formal!? It's a fucking sacrament!"
Yeah when I trip more for recreation like at the beach with friends or at a concert, i'm definitely always in a spiritual mindset, so even with a lot of stimuli or distractions, my mind will always be grabbing ideas out of them and sending me down more spiritual thought paths.
I'm gotta go for that too. It doesn't always has to be deep and profound. Sometimes you just want to have some fun and see colors and visuals. But I guess you always gonna have have both sides in the trip.
Damn right! When you see Ganesh appearing in the picks of the stucco on the wall, it's quite a surprise.
This. Often your intentions with LSD matter not as much as what LSD tends to do to the taker I've taken it for "kicks" many times and it's rarely worked out that way hehe. usually it's the LSD that's getting the kicks off me
Before I did acid I don't think I realized how much it would affect me spiritually... I didn't want to do it just for the sake of getting "fucked up," it was more about exploring perception which is something I've always been interested in. The spiritual aspect came later... both during the trips and afterwards when I would reflect about what I'd experienced while tripping.
You don't expect things like that. Lsd shoves your spirituality in your face, none of us were asked, it was a just a door that opened, and the light of it came kaskadeing in.
I like psychedelic for the mind expanding spiritual experience, but I'm definitely not above using them for plain old recreation when the occasion arises
my few trips all ended up surprising the shit out of me, so much time to think, and just soak. but I did have one trip that was boring because I didn't know what I wanted to do. probably too many people for my liking
i take it for both reasons spirituality&recreational it can change people's lives for the better quite a magical substance indeed:sunny:
Taking LSD for recreation is actually an awesome concept. It makes you feel like a child again, everything being new and dramatic. I just don't see how somebody could avoid getting a bit spiritual after that long unless you take a very low dose.
