do you make life happen? do you let life happen around/through you? is it best to embrace the strength of your present self, to have a contentment in your heart, to find deep peace and happy solidarity in your present life.. to let rivers and life flow around you? or to make possibility out of nothing, to make powerful change happen through the force of your will.. to have a constant and electrifying powerful forward motion, to always be making the world that other people live in? it is a hard balance! how do you all balance it?
I tried sitting back and letting life happen for me for years. It didn't. So I got up off my arse and made it. Life is too short for continual passivity.
By trying not to worry about things that haven't happened yet or might not, and learning to chill more
I suppose it's a mixture of both. You can make some things happen and prevent some things from happening, but there are many things you have no control over.
i just live every moment as it comes.yesterday is gone.tomorrow has'nt come yet.all anyones got is the here an now.life is what happenens while people are busy making plans.
Yeeeah boy, oxygen priority uno, then water. I spend half of my time being results oriented. Setting a goal and "making it happen". The other half I just try to stay in the moment and be present with myself, meditating, or being in the flow of good conversation (hard to find) Discursive thought is what it comes down to. These are the best and worst times for people in my opinion. When your thoughts are running you, you can be along for the ride and just enjoy it, or let it crash you. When things are going great just let go of the control a bit and you can appreciate things more. If it starts to go sour, take some deep breaths and cut the discursiveness off. Meditate for a minute or two. It's an invaluable skill to be able to recognize a bad situation, take a moment to realize the control you possess and then change some of the variables so that they suit you. Stay in the flow unless it starts to take you off course. Recognize when the flow isn't working for you at that minute.
that is how i feel too, and i find my mind is calmer and clearer and stronger when i live in the present but i do worry that i am too complacent...
