I did mushrooms for the first time last week. The day after I did them someone told me that mushrooms are the means by which the earth communicates with us, teaching us things that it wants us to know. That made a lot of sense. Any other thoughts?

I'd have to say I see it differently. I think the earth and nature communicate in many ways, the key is to be observant. I don't think you need to have a shroom experience in order to hear what is said, non-verbally.

I agree with voyage. psychedelics definitely take us into the worlds of plants and nature but they are only temporary shortcuts. most people these days are incredibly desensitized to nature's communication and presence beyond the physical. if you really want to learn from earth you tune your senses so that you may expand your consciousness and become more receptive to the world the shaman knows well

We listen to our thoughts instead of the world. The noise coming from inside us shuts everything out.

Dontcha think nature can still be observed in the city? It takes many forms to my way of thinking.

Nature can be seen in the city. I just got back from the Rocky Mountains so it's a tough transition. I'm so used to the way it is over here that I often fail to stop and feel the magic. I'm guilty I know.

what really separates anything from nature? nature made man and man made technology, where are the solid lines between these things?

Nature did make man and man did make technology. maybe we just took it too far. I like to get away from all the technology and enjoy the true outdoors.

    Everything is nature IMO.

    I agree with CC ^^

I remember when I was on cid I was standing on the edge of a river, on top of a small hill overlooking a bridge and a lot of trees. I became aware of the fractal of nature.

I saw that the bacteria, the bugs, the birds, and a plane were all connected... they were different parts of the same fractal that is nature. Cells create humans, does that mean humans aren't natural because they're created by cells?

I can't really explain it in words. It's something you can only really understand by feeling it and being acutely aware.

to be brief, i never see technology breathe the way nature does.

I agree that the line isnt as cut and dry as people make it out to be, but natural things have an aura that man made things can not match. Sure a building may be beautiful, but it will never give me the sense of calm that resting against the trunk of a tree on a hill will.

    Just my 2 pence.
