NERF Regional Gathering Aug 10-17

NERF scouts and seed camp folks are still
working out the correct directions to the
vermont regional. as stated in an earlier email,
the correct directions will be announced after
august 1. rumor has it that some people are
planning to go to a site which is not where
the gathering is being held.
please wait for the official directions,
which will be announced in the next few days.

This is a Spiritual Gathering, absolutely Free & Non-Commercial, supported by your voluntary cooperation. We are here to express and rejoice in the sacredness of ourselves, nature, the land, and the spirit that connects us all. Tread lightly, with great respect, as you enter the Cathedral of Nature and join in gathering together for the purpose of expressing our sincere desire that there shall be peace on Earth, harmony among all people.​

WHAT TO BRING:​

Come prepared to camp and be self sufficient. Bring your own cup, bowl, utensils, and personal water container & water jugs. Bring drinking water and/or personal filtering gear if you can, tents or shelter, camping equipment, sleeping bags, blankets, mats, flashlights and extra batteries, camp shovel, camp tools, rope, snacks. Bring green energy for the magic hat and some bulk food for the kitchens. Bring stuff to share. Prepare for warm days and cool nights. Bring rain gear, layered clothing, hiking footwear, sunglasses, sunscreen & a hat. Bring toiletry supplies including extra toilet paper, menstrual necessities, biodegradable soaps & shampoos, first aid supplies. Bring acoustic instruments, drums. Please bring bags to take out your trash & recyclables. Please remove any trash or recyclables from the gathering site any chance you may get. Cleanup starts when you get there! ​

GETTING TO THE GATHERING:​

♥From south-east:If you are coming north on VT Rt.7: Follow your map to ManchesterVT. From there go 13 miles north on Rte. 7 to DanbyVT. Turn right or east toward Mt.Tabor. You are now on Brooklyn Rd. also called F.S. 10. Check the odometer and call this @0.0. Hairpin turns and climbing. Big Branch Picnic Area @2.5. AppleChain Trail @3.0. Back Door @4.0-5.0??? FS60 @4.6. FS31 @6.2. After about 6.6 miles on FS10, just the other side of a small bridge is FS30, bear right (South). Of course from the other direction it is a sharp left. FS301 @8.0. Old Job trail head @8.8.​

♥From north-east:If you are coming south on Rt.7, you probably know where you are and can change the above directions to avoid actually driving the 26 miles from Danby to Manchester and back.​

♥From south-west:It is possible to get there through winding back roads, but it may be best to take VT-9 from Brattleboro to Bennington, and then go north on VT-7, following the directions above from south-east. VT-9 is exit 2 off I-91.​

At the trailhead, there is parking for dozens. Since it is probably full, park along FS-30 on one side of the road. Have all wheels off the pavement so that big emergency vehicles can get through.​

Come home safely; take care of each other along the way. Make sure your vehicles are safe and street​

legal. Pick up hitchhikers & bring them home. Ignore all rumors of cancellation, regardless of source.​
