If you were in power, what would you do?

I would permanently end all of the world's problems in a single day. I would eliminate poverty, disease, death, violence, depression, gin, fundamentalism, tyranny, cannibalism, illiteracy, hunger, homelesnes, the war on drugs, drug addiction, corrupt politics, organised crime, child abuse, smoker persecution, smoking, George W Bush, Al Qaeda, abuse of media, locust plagues, and war.

I would nuke Earth. Every square inch. No more worries ever again.

(well, I wouldn't really do that, but it's guaranteed to work)

 

Legalise Marijuana, but thats an obvious one.

 

Return humanity to the state of nature.

3. Abolish The CIA

4. Declassify all Classified Documents

This doesn't include things like troop locations, etc. but I think the US people have a right to know what happened with the JFK assasination, the RFK assasination, The MLK assasination, September 11th...all things being hidden from us in classified, unreadable documents....if the American people were able to see those documents...we would most likely not even be in Afghanistan or Iraq.

5. Abolish the WTO

-That's a no brainer.

6. Pull out from the United Nations

-America Is Supposed to be an isolationist country, not involved in other countries petty affairs, we are supposed to make all our own products and not buy them from slave labor countries like China and oppress them. America has no purpose to be involved in the UN, The US basically controls the UN anyway.

7. Limit Corporate Donations to Politicians

There should be a commission to check up on Canidates campaign funds to make sure only certain, stricter amounts come from corporations.

8. Pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan and End The War On Terrorism

The War On Terror is a big joke, manufactured by Big Oil Companies, The Global Elite, and the Military industrial complex to make billions upon billions and to create a police state, it is Joseph Mccarthy's wetdream....

9. Lower The defense Budget and use that money to feed hungry nations

The Defense Budget bah....Crass once said "Defense, shit, it's nothing less than war, and no one but the government knows what the fuck it's for"....The defense Budget in the US far exceeds The UK, France, and other countries with similar political systems, that amount of money is not necessary.

10. Lower Intelligence Funding and use it to feed and clothe the poor

Do you know the NSA, CIA, and FBI get $40,000,000,000 of our money a year? And these are the same organizations who just "Let those 19 hijackers get by accidently and fucked up"....we are giving $40,000,000,000 to these thugs and they can't even stop a terrorist attack that we had been warned about numerous times?

Actually, only 10% of John Kerry's funds and 12% of George Bush's funds came from corporations. The rest came from individuals. That's not to say that corporations don't have other ways of influencing elections (527s), but this won't be solved by campaign finance laws.

How will that problem be solved by cutting all their funding?

In America: introduce a basic level of free health care for everyone.

1)I would anounce a massive program of renewable energy generation. On the scale of the manhatan project combined with both war efforts and the apollo program.

2)Then I would get rid of the military except for a minimal force that could be kept to step in to keep the peace in your own country in times of riot or national emergency etc.

3)I would allow only diesel based vehicles for use with bio diesel and hugely beef up bus and train services to give transport to all those it was taken away from by the banning of petrol.

4)I would anounce a series of subsidies to all organic food production so that we can move away from a dependence on oil based fertilizers and pesticides.

5)Legalise weed and other natural plant based drugs (shrooms etc.) and get some tax out of it.

6)Anounce new planning regulations for all new buildings to have solar pannels and be energy efficient. Also introduce huge subsidies allowing people to convert their current homes and buildings. (http://www.energybulletin.net/3567.html)

7)Increase funding for education and health care.

8)Increase taxation for any companies and people who don't comply or act on the above laws/programs.

10% is still a large amount of money, Do you think it is just a coincidence about all the oil companies who funded dubya through the 2000 election? These Presidential canidates, whoever they are, do whatever the corporations who funded them, want them to do, that is my belief...

With that last comment I was implying that these Intelligence agencies DID know what was going to happen on that day and followed their orders to not try and stop it....or were barred from trying to stop it. There is no need for these obviously corrupt agencies, who take billions of dollars of taxpayer money just to follow orders from the federal government to stand down and not investigate terrorist organizations or try and stop a terrorist attack from occuring, or even orders to CARRY OUT attacks on US citizens. I do believe the FBI should be in place, but not a corrupt organization covering up government lies, and giving them 40 billion dollars to do this is absolutely ridiculous.

I would use our fossil fuels to create alternatives to fossil fuels

I would push the recycling of construction waste, natural renovation and building methods. I would also loosen building regulations for homesteaders utilizing natural materials.

I would allow people to take over and fix up unused HUD housing.

I would push "Fair" trade.

I would not allow any business that disreguards the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to do business with the United States.

Then after a few years the amount of enemies the US has will have reduced enough that we can cut the military budget drastically.

Seriously though- I would put smarter people than me in charge. Howard Dean will take care of fixing up the economy and Kucinich will be in charge of the Department of Peace. Kerry would be Secretary of State and Barack Obama would be crowned King...er, I mean elected president.
