Just like this forum for "hippies" there are other forums and if you scroll down far enough on the mail page you will see forums for other countries.
There you may find someone in the area you are wanting to travel to.
And make some friends and have a great time on your adventure.
Be careful that you get to know some one a bit before going to their place, there are all kinds of people in the world.
