Yes, I left that message. (I do consider all my reps to be of the quality necessary for public display)

Are you on the universal payroll or something? why are you so desperate to defend this crackwhore? Or maybe you think you'll be just like what's his face, mr. not that funny "leave britney alone!!!"....

I spent my last year of high school browsing the web during several periods, and because it was school and everything else was blocked, I read the news.

She was in the news weekly. Falling over someone at someone's party, seen probably doing coke but no one was sure, walking off stage again and again, having a "brain damage" inducing day long hash binge(With pictures after!) faceplanting wherever she happened to fall....... Probably the most read name that year, aside from barrack obama.

She spent years pushing herself as far as she could into the "depths" of some of the most pathetic drugs, and some of the least addictive drug(s). (the first two being alcohol and coke, the second being marijuana) And not only that, she was determined to do it in the public eye.

So she dies, and it's not that suprising, and I saw it coming, and so did everyone else. I, for one, am just happy she no longer pollutes my daily news. (it's rather a shame she didn't die back when I actually read the news)

I don't respect people who choose to be train wrecks, and, as a responsible drug user and hobbyist, I don't respect people who choose to be celebrity train wrecks who drag down drugs and blame them for the fact that they're attention-whore losers.

You do? Great. I'm glad that's settled then.

An air of desperation? I'm present because there are those here gloating over the death of another, including yourself. It doesn't smell well. Please forgive me for clearing the atmosphere a little.

Wait, the coke was marijuana? Jesus! "Determined to do it in the public eye." Oh for shame. I forgot how precious the public can be.

Shit, with stuff like this you could do "news" like BBAD!

I don't respect people who visit the sites of such just to say they saw it coming.

LOL 'Hobbyist?' Fuck me dead. You're kidding me right? Can I buy the t-shirt yet?

"Drag down drugs" LOL Be careful you don't do that yourself, 'hobbyist'.

Both were exceptional singers, but took a lot of hard drugs and died at 27.

But Janis was blues and rock, while Amy was jazz and soul. So they put out very different music. Amy was like the stuff from Motown, not Janis.

Why is it always the good singers that die? I really liked her, and she was pretty hot too.

The news reports around here are saying that toxicology reports aren't "fully back yet"...whatever that means...but there followed 2 different doctors saying that if she tried to kick the booze cold-turkey, she could have had a seizure, cardiac arrest, etc...which, according to the medical community, could definitely have killed her. I have personal experience with a (now dead) loved one getting off of alcohol, and I do know that DTs from alcohol can be fatal.
So, if she died trying to go cold-turkey, are all y'all still going to be sitting in judgement, hating on her and calling her names?

I can scarcely believe all the hateful comments on what purports to be a "hip" forum. You all sound like a bunch of Republican/Tea Party assholes. May the ghost of Jesse Helms pay you a visit.

What they're saying applies to most people.

But then there's people who have no real intention in being clean, and from everything I saw, she was one of those.

I don't respect her because of drugs: because she could have dealt with her problems (however real or fake) with honor, but instead wouldn't step out of the limelight and stop doing stupid things. You can mantain and addiction (especially with money like that) without doing the things she did. She seemed determined to give drugs all the bad press she could, and blame the drugs for her bad choices with the drugs.

I respect people with legitimate problems, I don't have one bit of respect for people who revel in their problems.

I think you mentioned earlier in this thread something about keeping up with the latest news about her. I however don't know anything about her life, so I have no leg to stand on in any debate.

I only just heard of her myself to be honest.

All I can say is my gut tells me she didn't want to live anymore, for whatever reason, and that makes me sad. This comes from what little I've read about her anyway.

Life is precious, and she died way too young. I wish more could have been done to save her from herself, or whatever it was that killed her.

    I agree.

Reckless as she may have been, somehow I think we all would have known right away if it was drugs. I could be wrong, but I think that info still hasn't been released? I guess fabricating evidence takes time....

I have a feeling that she was offed because dead people who made great music and became tragic victims of themselves are more valuable to a label than burning-out musicians who's lives are ongoing embarassing drug/sex sprees that make you buy your kids music from another label. Now instead of avoiding that horrible satanic music by that whore, amy winehouse, in a few years strict mothers everywhere will be buying their kids classic greatest hits albums, featuring the golden voice of the tragically taken amy winehouse.

The paparazzi are vicious. I don't think Amy Winehouse was trying to be in the limelight. She just happened to be addicted to drugs in a time where celebrities can't do anything without their every move being recorded. Instead of going through the stages of her addiction in privacy like most people, her addiction was placed on stage by the tabloids and by voyeuristic parasites that feed on shit like that.

I never really read about her personal life. I just like her music and I think its sad she won't be able to put out another album.
