Now I know for a fact there are many posts like this one...but I just got done watching the movie 500 Days of Summer and it got me thinking about "true love" I have been single for over a year now and have not had much interest in trying to get into a relationship. I than start to think back about my first love...strangely enough my first love was actually my only...so hence in writing this love sick forum does anyone believe in true love, destiny, and all that crap...also do people believe in soul mates?? i don't believe u have one soulmate, or a love that is destined* for u. theres no such thing as fate/destiny, u choose your own life. however i believe u can be passionately in love with somebody, and forget that everyone else exists. its happened to me, it can happen to anyone, but its all a question of circumstances. *i hope thats a word.
In a nutshell, yes - I do believe in all that. Unfortunately, the person that we believe is right for us may not necessarily think the same thing.
I don't know if there is destiny or not. I think that it is the sort of thing that no one can really prove. It seems to me like the whole soul mate thing got invented because just being in love, or really being in love didn't sound cool enough. I think that some people may click with one another better than some people, and grow very close in the course of a relationship. I think some people also use their relationships as a status item, and for some of them, the soul mate tag is just a means to that end.
