okay this is my hair today (blueshirt) and like 2 weeks ago orange shirt.... First I just would like opinions on how u think they would look and if my hair would lock quickly or at all, and how big you recommend the sections be... also when i pull the curls straight my hair is below my mouth in the front , part of the reason i want locks is so the curls will be straightened out a bit and my hair will be longer... will locks accomplish this??? and keep my hair as long as it already is or shorten it???

ALSO please let me know if anybody knows anybody that can will help me do them in the dallas area....

last thing... i have a big forehead anybody also have a small country for a forehead that can make me feel better about putting them back and exposing it ! haha thanks to all!

Use thicker sections to avoid them being curly I suppose. My hair is naturally sort of curly, and my dreads have always been thick and straight. Except the tips of the thinner ones.

dreads will straight up your hair, but will also shorten it.
I don't think to much though

    first of all, you're adorable.
also, they will look awesome on you. because your hair is curly, i'd say that you should expect quite a bit of shrinkage (in length). as far as whether they will lock faster, i think that really depends on individual hair type and method.

so, you're looking for someone to "do" them? what do you plan on "doing"? i always recommend the neglect method first. if that isn't something that you can handle, consider maybe twist and ripping them yourself over a period of a few days, or weeks. you can even backcomb them yourself. you might as well get used to being patient with them and start them over a few days time, instead of looking for someone to give you 'instalocks' which don't really exist. just my two cents.

check out the thread called "read this before posting". it has a faq that may help you decide.

My hair is curly.... this long dead was barely knotted, notice the length compared to the other knottier hair bits. It shrank up eventually, but seriously... my hair got like 1/3 as long as it would be.
