Hello hip forums! I've been a long time lurker here and decided it was about time to make an account to help share all my knowledge of drugs and their use. :2thumbsup:

I consume Cannabis regularly, with the occasional Soma (muscle relaxer) session, and VERY rarely have a few drinks from time to time. I quite enjoy the introspective thoughts I get from Cannabis, but last year I began becoming intrigued by the psychedelic esque highs I would get from Sativa dominant strains. This sparked my interest in psychedelics, and I've been studying them since.

But enough of my life story, I believe after over a year I have finally gathered enough information to try the psychedelics I spent so much time researching.

My question: I have read many reports/claims on erowid and the shroomery forums that state the Cannabis high becomes more psychedelic after experiences with TRUE psychedelics. To what extent is this true? Is the change still pleasurable? I've also read that this more psychedelic high fades after time. What do you think of this?

    Thanks in advance.

Well let me start by saying that I don't know anything for sure cause I've never done shrooms. If shrooms is what your referring to.

But I've read that shrooms don't change anything in your brain physically or chemically that lasts. So its probably just that people perceive the high different than they did before doing shrooms.

I think it might be the placebo affect. When im high my mind plays little tricks on me.

Whenever I'm on psychedelics and I smoke weed, it feels like the weed high is half as strong, like the psychedelic high is overpowering the weed high

Cannabis became more psychedelic for me after maybe 2 years of psychedelic use (among other drugs) and initially I found it pleasant because it was almost like a free trip from Cannabis. But maybe a year or so after Cannabis became more psychedelic for me it started getting unpleasant to smoke. Cannabis seems to have distinct type of paranoia and anxiety for me that I don't get from psychedelics. That's not to say that psychedelics can't induce paranoia or anxiety but there is some inexplicable difference between the two and I gave up Cannabis about 2 years ago because it was no longer chill and enjoyable.

I always smoke weed on mushrooms and I trip monthly now lol. I can smoke forever, never hitting a break point on mushrooms. It feels like ecstacy. You can toke and never reach your peak. Which sucks. But still, they go together like... drugs and other drugs...awesomely

I think that may be it. After using psychedelics a couple times, weed seemed more Introspective and/or psychedelic than it did before. I think they do just change the way you perceive the high, just like it does just about everything else
