Not sure if you know how to do all this... so I'ma help ya out :D I did this not too long ago so I could post links in chat. Not sure why the new v26 won't let people post links anymore, but v22 was the version I had that worked.

First, look up "java 6 v22 install" OR just click here to download the installer file.

Then, you'll want to exit your browser and uninstall your current java software (via Windows uninstaller)

When that's done, go to your "Downloads" folder and install java 6 v22 and you're done!

Hope this works, worked out well for me. If you need help with anything else, just leave a reply and I'll check back here. Or comment or pm, whatever works :)

Not a very smart thing to do.
There is a reason they update java so often and remove old versions, it is VERY easy to exploit as a means to inject trojans and other malware. Same with pdf's.
If you have older versions still residing on your system, there's a good chance you have been compromised.
Java did not remove older versions when updating until just recently, within the last year, because they discovered that just having the older versions still on the system left that system open for exploitation. Now whenever it updates it removes any prior versions because those old versions have been hacked.

Simply put, any software that allows commands to be executed on the client (your) computer from a website, e-mail, etc. is vulnerable to such exploitation.
There is a good reason for all the updates, don't open yourself up for attack by going backward.
Fact is that today better than 75% of all malware is injected by means of those obnoxious banner ads you see all over. It's because they originate from a site other than the one you are visiting and all it takes is a simple mouse click to open your system up for attack. Some can do it simply by loading the page. It can also be implemented without the knowledge of the site owner/operator. The ads can also be hijacked and exploited without the original ad owners knowledge.

That's why I NEVER click on any banner ads, even the ones here.
