So a good friend of mine has a birthday coming up. I was planning to eat some Morning Glory seeds with her that day, but Hawaiian Baby Woodrose sounds like alot less trouble. I'll need about 20, 5 for each of us, 5 for one more friend, and 5 for her mother, because I have a feeling she'll want to try them. I know I can order them online, but I want to see if theres an easier method. Like Walmart or something. Are they a common thing to find at Garden stores or nurseries?

From what I've heard, if you find them at garden stores or supermarkets they'll most likely be coated in poison to prevent you consuming them. You can still germinate and grow them, then harvest clean seeds from the plants, but I'm guessing you want them a little sooner than that :p

So yeah, online is probably your best bet I'd say.

Used to be easy to come by, back in the '60's.

I tried them a few times, but couldn't get used to the nausea. The skins have strichnine and you have to scrape them first, but it doesn't get rid of the initial nausea. I never got used to them, but I do remember the hallucinations.

I never found the nausea that bad, what put me off them after a few tries was the vasoconstriction. I would get cramps in my thighs and biceps, and my limbs would get very cold from lack of blood. Apart from that, they're a beautiful experience!

I really have no idea, but personally I wouldnt try it. Its so easy to get them online with no poison.
Is online ordering not an option for you, or something?

Can the poison on the seeds be washed off with soap and water?

Ask the people at the greenhouse, say I am a strictly a organic gardener, do these seeds contain any pesticides or any other chemical. They will be honest with you.

"Honest" isn't the point. How many of these "people at the greenhouse" would fully understand that your intention is to ingest the seeds? I wouldn't risk my life or well-being on the knowledge of some "store employees".
