Seriously. My hubby and I share a car, so usually I'm taking transit, so it leaves me a lot more time to read. But I tried giving up tv and radio for a month, no car either. I've just finished reading my second novel (the most I've read in such a short period of time) and I've learned to knit a scarf and hat. Very educational. Today I'm binging on as much tv as possible.
I've spent 2 months without a TV, radio, or car. It's called "Segregation," in jail - that's what happens when you throw a dixie cup full of piss at a guard.
whenever my electricity and such gets turned off due to lack of funds to pay bills that is my time away from tv and radio..and my car is a piece of shit so therefore i have to spend enough time with it as possible before it is gone forever..
nah I don't watch a lot of tv and I am not going to pay a ridiculously high car payment for a car I can't drive-even for a week.
btdt, fed up with it LOL i have my car again, whenever i want it. i love being able to hop in the car and arrive at my destination 5 minutes later instead of having to lug the stroller on the bus and get there an hour later with a cranky kid who didnt want to sit quietly on the bus for so long. and i just subscribed to cable so that we can watch all the christmas specials. so there!
I don't have a TV, radio or a car. I can live just fine without those. Just don't take away my CD player or computer.
i went for 4 months with no>>> t.v. computer. radio. phone. car (I've never owned a car so it doesn't count really) the only thing electrical that i really had was a microwave. but the good thing was that it was in spring/summer so i did lots of walking and going out etc... it was great and i wouldn't mind doing it again just not in the winter
that sounds like a good idea. i think i might do that and since i live on the third floor i should learn really quickly!!
I could easily go without TV. But I need my radio.... I listen to a lot of talk-radio. Actually, I don't need it. But I like having it.
I already did all that when I worked construction. i didnt watch tv, had no car, no radio, barely slept, but man did i catch up on reading some books.
I dont have a licence, hate the radio stations here, and i hate tv...except for comedy central, that is the only dilemma i have. Have to watch my south park
I can live without tv or a car, but I need some form of music or sound. If not a radio, then a CD player. if not a CD player, then give me a damned instrument and I'll tinker around with it. Gotta have a sound to focus on.
