I think I've already replied to this and if I did it might be creepy that I reply again, but, no, I am not afraid of death at all.

  3. No...when you don't think, there's not much to fear. There's pain, but you don't fear it; you just feel it.

I used to be afraid of death, I think, but now I'm not. I'm sure (just about) all of us want to experience life, and even if we don't want to, we haven't much of a choice, and the only way to do that is to experience death; after all, it is a part of life.

I think the main reason I was afraid to die is because I was going to desperately miss life and the things it held - there would be so much going on and I wouldn't be there for it any longer. When I was a kid, I would cry at the thought of dying and there being nothing after life and the thought of a life without music would literally bring me to tears as a child (I started piano lessons when I was 6 and am a huge music freak).

If anything, I think we should be more afraid of life. The world and the universe is a huge, dangerous, unknown place - anything can happen - we're only here for an extremely short period of time. Death - whatever it holds when we reach that point of our existence, we are there forever - and if anything, we should be comfortable with death.

Sometimes I get the idea, that the time we live, when you compare it to the vast depths of time, is minute. Time, as far as we know, is infinite. I may live 70 years. Time goes into the past and into the future for an infinite amount of years. My 70 years on this Earth, compared to infinite time, has essentially already existed and been completed.

I have roughly 70 years, if I'm lucky, within an infinite amount of time. It's over and done in an instant if you look at the larger picture. My life will have ended before it's ever really started.

ahhhh....the great equalizer - DEATH. At the end of the light there is an old frame house. Inside you'll find them waiting for you. They've been here since they too, passed. Suddenly, a hand comes from the shadows and reaches out to lead you up the stairs towards the brightly lit room full of people. It is the hand of the one - during life - you loved the most. An overwhelming sense of love and acceptance consume you as you begin to identify the faces of those in the room, for they are your ancestors. Carried by the wave of love, you slowly gllide towards the door, knowing that this is the only place you can be.... Fear isn't even part of your psyche, as this emotion is found only among those still living, so of course there is NO FEAR ~

The only time I'm easy is when I'm killed by death.

Absoultely unafraid of the time when this bag of bones wears out ... I've previously experienced the beauty of being in the presence of all that is - and ever was - and ever will be. It is unlike anything else. Nowadays, I strive to enjoy the time remaining on the physical plane, because I've not yet experienced everything this life has in store.

i'm annoyed that there is a limit as to how much i can live long enough to see, learn and experience. not counting on it, but it would be nice to still be able to continue doing so in some other life or lives after this one. so, i'm at an age where i know fearing it isn't going to do me a damd bit of good, but i'm still not in any hurry to get there.

I'm afraid of suffering at the end of life, but I'm not afraid of death, the beyond, or the unknown. It can't be any worse than this existence.

I'm not afraid of death, I'm afraid of not fulfilling the purpose of my existence while I am alive. I fear spending the last moments of my life filled with regrets.

    I agree completely.

After losing my father, I realize that we are all here, ultimately, to die. There's nothing we can do to stop it and if we are nearing it, the only way to prolong not dying is medication and suffering.

I actually somewhat look forward to the unknown at times

If I was afraid of death, I wouldn't have been so reckless over the years. Of course, I didn't expect to live past 20. Now I'm 27 and not expecting to live past 30. I've accepted that and I'm fine with it.

That's not to say I want to die, but I'm certainly not afraid of dying.

Nope, not afraid of death at all.

The sad reality of the world, is that one day, whenever that may be - our time will come when we die, and frankly, there's nothing that can be done about it.

I'd say that the only thing I would be afraid of in this respect, is what comes after death - and how things will change.

Ultimately, if I was given a choice, I'd prefer to a die peaceful death also.
