Gay Pride Parades...

Well at work today I was reading how Toronto's Mayor keeps ducking out of the gay pride parade. Claims its a family tradition to go out to a family cabin every Canada Day. Some people say he deserves a vacation and others are appalled at his continual ducking out of the annaul gay pride day/parade as a anti-gay stance. Most other mayors participate every year.

What are your opinions of this? Personally even though I'm pretty gay I still never reallly been to one or care to go. Not like they've got straight pride parades anyways. I think they shouldn't be forcing the pride thing into the Mayor's face anyways.

I'm sure there are politicians that attend because they actually supp

 

The politicians don't give a fuck about gay people.

 

I'm bi, but I hate gay pride parades. I have never seen the appeal of them. I don't blame the mayor for trying to avoid them.

The only way you're going to get sexual equality is if you stop treating your sexuality as if it's something special. We need to get rid of the stereotype that gay guys are camp and like to dress up as women. I know a lot of people who are under the assumption that you can spot a gay guy from across the room. It annoys me to no end.

Any way, gay pride parades suck. Your sexuality is nothing to be proud or ashamed about. It's just as foolish as being proud of your nationality.

 

the only reason i go to pride parades is to check out other hot guys, i'll be honest. and i really could care less whether a political figure is at an event or not...makes no difference to me

 

maybe if the gay community used the parade more as a way to get the "equality for all" message out instead of using it as an excuse to act like morons swinging their dicks in banana hammocks more people would be out there supporting them

 

I never really understood why people go dressed like that, dont they fucking realize their are children around in the day time. There is no way the entire population is notified there is a gay parade, or they simple forgot. If anything there should be an ordinance against wearing outfits parts stick out on during such parades.

 

why? whats wrong with letting children see guys dicks flopping around? i mean really....unless you want to teach them that nudity and sexual expression are bad things that we should try and hide and be ashamed of. . . . our society is sooo sexually repressed
