A year ago today was the first time I ever smoked DMT. I chose to celebrate this morning and it came after an evening filled with a long day of work, frustration and anger. I contemplated smoking after midnight but I thought some rest might be better for me and to partake the DMT journey in the morning. I woke up, stretched and pretty much got ready for launch. I was still not feeling in the best place mentally but I chose to go through with it. I loaded a good amount DMT in a bubbler, sandwiched between a few pieces of mugwort and was prepared to just get thrashed by DMT. I had only been smoking Changa recently prior to this experience which I find a bit easier of an experience at relative doses/hits.

I took in 4 solid inhalations, not coughing once but I definitely could taste the DMT. During the middle of my 3rd hit, my vision started to go blurry and I remembered just how much more ferocious the straight DMT experience comes on compared to the mixed DMT/maoi experience of Changa. On my 4th hit I couldn't even see straight and I got one small hit in after that. I laid down, braced myself, was waiting for the carrier wave but it didn't come. The lack of audio effects actually freaked me out slightly for a minute as I had no clue where this trip was about to go. Then I closed my eyes and saw the patterns coming, small and hexagonal with the eyes closed, they started popping up out of nowhere and many, many at a time. I opened my eyes and saw undulating shimmering golden prisms that seemed impossible in their appearance on my ceiling, they layered on top and around one another to create a wavy ocean of perfected fractal psychedelia.

This was not a full breakthrough trip but once again I was in complete awe of the power of DMT, I was expecting to have an ass kicking type of experience and instead the DMT space embraced me in an overwhelming sense of ease, aesthetic beauty and peace. The fractals moved down the side of the wall in the peripheral of my vision and then I started to feel as if they were overlapping on my body. I continued with eyes open, clear headed to look towards the ceiling the majority of the trip, as I watched the fractals continue to morph, which generated a response that I felt on my body. As soon I started feeling the slightest hint of the radiating DMT afterglow, I stood up and slightly stumbled as I was heading for the bathroom. The room continued to sway around me for another minute or so and I probably could have laid down and enjoyed the effects some more but I was just completely captivated at what just happened and was filled with ecstatic energy. I felt a lift in mood for a few hours after and enjoyed my day.

For how short the DMT experience is, I am amazed by the variation in the types of experiences it produces. I constantly find new aspects when I embark upon the DMT journey that leave me absolutely entranced during it and amazed after it but they all carry that distinct DMT signature.

I think a year celebration of finding spice is a worthy one. I would never do that with any other substance though, personally. My OH got introduced to it yesterday, but she only got a small dose, at least she now knows why I sigh when I'm slipping away lol, she'll defo be getting a slightly more 'cosmic' hit next time, show her just how little she has scratched the surface.

Man am I enjoying getting acquainted with spice - the depth to which you go in the space of a few minutes is just mind blowing, you get a fat enough rip and everything you know just dissolves in front of your eyes, your brain starts to 'defragment' and your being dissolves, such a refreshing feeling! My friend, after her first hit felt that she had been re-born - what other substance could put you through that?! Dimitri FTW!

This is one of the best bits :sunny: Even if a trip turns out a bit disappointing visually, which is pretty much never unless you are crap at smoking, you can always count on that gorgeous feeling afterwards

I have a couple of friends who have expressed an interest, but I don't think they are quite prepared for the magnitude of what they will encounter yet...

So far though, Chang > freebase any day, tastes nicer, burns easier, less fiddly to dose, and due to the maois you can keep redosing...

Any way, I've waffled on too much, happy dmt birthday! lol

Thank you for your response, DMT is definitely a worthy celebration and an amazing experience.

Dmt is a rarity for me, so any form I have it in makes me happy and I don't really get a competitive attitude towards the various forms of it. I do pick up on the difference in experience though, however subtle they may be. Changa can also be extremely varied in the ingredients mixed I imagine, so there is probably a great deal of variability in experiences between different blends. I had a bowl worth of changa to choose from that morning as well and I know that it was a changa blend that was made with care and I thoroughly enjoy the Changa experience but I feel DMT freebase is a more intense and direct experience so I went with that.

Yeah, it's a rarity for me too, although it is hard to refrain sometimes! I haven't broken through on Freebase yet, just lighter doses, I'll be going for a heavier dose in a week or so I think.

I just find that plasticy taste a bit nasty, but the effects are totally worth it. Changa just seems like a tastier, easier option for me, with much the same results. What ever the case, DMT fucking rocks :sunny:

ah the breakthrough is so hard to achieve! damn you hyperspace!

glad you had a good time on it though, its amazing how much of an effect it can have on you even in a sub-breakthrough experience.

Got to agree with you on that one. I have gone off the longer lasting psyches for the time being because they take so much planning and preparation. With DMT, you take a holiday from your body for 10 minutes, have a deep insightful experience, and can then go about your day with that wonderful warm afterglow. Wonderful :sunny:

Man, if I could just dump some endogenous DMT into my brain at will and have the same effects each time - that would be a blessing.... But - Mushies are a different trip to DMT, so you may have experienced something similar, but I doubt that either experience bore the hallmarks of smoked DMT

Do you think the oral DMT is gentler and more rewarding than smoking it then?

Oral DMT is definitely more gentle cognitively than smoked DMT. They both can be rewarding experiences, but Oral lasts longer in duration than smoked DMT and is not quite as frantic so it's probably easier to digest and process than the smoked DMT experience.

Makes sense, I'm looking forward to aya/moai combo myself, I've got it nearly sorted technically, its reducing the volume part that I'm confused, I think my slow cooker can do it on its maximum setting. Can you offer any tips?

I only have experience with pharmahuasca, based on that I'd recommend the same preparation as with mushrooms or a 4-aco dmt trip. I'll speculate based on reading and whatnot that ayahuasca has a heavier body load and feels more grounded as where pharmahuasca was fairly euphoric and had a more day glo surreal luminous quality to plants and such.

    Good in a nature setting.

Awesome stuff man! Sounds like you had a great one year anniversary trip! I can definitely relate to the part of your trip where you said you were filled with ecstatic energy from what you had just experienced...it happens to me a lot when i'm tripping on mushrooms or lsd at times.

But sadly, I have not come across any DMT yet :( Hopefully, I will cross paths with DMT somewhere down the road of my life.

Oh and just curious GB, did you ever have a full breakthrough experience yet?

    Good vibes to you!:sunny:

It took me about 8 years to find DMT, well worth the wait.

I've had a few DMT breakthrough trips, here is a report from one of them.

Ah yes! I remember reading this trip report of yours before! Brilliant description! i can only imagine what that's like. Ahhh, i really want to try this molecule now haha..but i will be patient.

Did you have any life changing epiphanies or learn something deep and amazing? If you don't mind me asking haha (unless of course it is very personal)
I imagine most people experience some 'out of this world' stuff ha.

DMT is a very difficult trip to process and utilize in the same way as LSD or mushrooms because of the shorter duration and the trip comes on extremely rapidly and intense.

I would say DMT is a deep trip in the sense that it has helped shape and further some ideas, and dismiss other ideas regarding aspects of the nature of reality for me, things that Shrooms/LSD maybe gave me a general idea about but they don't really reach the same level of dissolving reality like DMT ime.

On a more personal level, I find integrating DMT trips into my everyday life more difficult than Shrooms/LSD so I haven't really had that type of life altering epiphany from smoked DMT and I think pharmahuasca/ayahuasca would be better for that kind of growth from the DMT experience.

Ahh, I see. Thank you for sharing that. Yeah, I was just curious what you got out of your DMT experience and how you may incorporate some of things from your trip into your daily life. It definitely sounds like some deep stuff though.. and i can imagine that it could take months to fully understand what your trip was about. I have learned and had some amazing 'realizations' from LSD and Mushrooms..so I am quite interested where DMT would take me.. and what i will grasp from it.. But that is for another time! hah :sunny:
