Moving to Ontario from Edmonton after leaving my family that is over protective and ultra conservative and religious. My political belief is the new left and highly critical of capitalism. What is the best city or town to live in southern ontario where people have same political belief system . Is college or university in southern Ontario too snobby the people that look down on any thing not mainstream? I hear comments from people to stay out of Hamilton ,Kitchener and especially London do to bad area ,crime ,poverty, teens having kids at young age ,street people and drug use . Do those people sound like conservative people? What should I say to them when they say this?
Southern Ontario; I'd say London. Awesome city, fantastic, super nice people. Great art/music scene. People are super relaxed, there's often fighting in the streets, depending on where you go though. It's a college town too. Lots of youth, lots of hot college babes, or dudes if that's your thing. It's a nice place. Yes, the unemployment is kind of high right now, there are drugs (as there are anywhere), etc. Hamilton, stay the hell away from it. It's also a shit hole, literally; the pollution is fucking disgusting and is clearly affecting the brain cells of the population. Ottawa is great too, though largely conservative due to it being the capital. It's very clean, low unemployment, low crime, low drug use, though weed is everywhere. Only problem is it's a government town. If you want any decent job, you'll have to learn french. Also, there's not a lot going on at night besides bars and clubs. If you want to get away from a conservative mindset, do not move anywhere out west, besides Vancouver. The middle/western provinces are, vote and pretty well act exclusively conservative. Have you thought about moving out east? Halifax is any amazing place. College/university town. Most of the population is young. Art and music is huge out there, given the population age. People are super laid back, it's very clean, besides the harbour. You're right on the ocean, always a plus. Employment is pretty good. It's probably the most "liberal" place out east. Any further east or north and you get into conservative country again. There's Montreal as well. Though it's in Quebec, a large part of the population is english. And, well, it's the biggest city in a french province; it doesn't get any more liberal than that... Music, art, theater, food, city life, etc; it's all there. Probably the coolest/ most fun city in all of Canada.
I'm staying with people in Toronto. But going to move out and find good city or town in Southern Ontario.
It's terrible for pollution. It's absolutely nothing like the rest of Canada, and is more or less hated by the rest of the country. Very high crime rate; in part due to gangs, many different ethnicities living so closely, and a high population in general. It's just a different place compared to the rest of Canada. What do you think of it so far?
Toronto is business city too many preppy and preppy people the middle class moved to suburbs. In city there is the have and have nots .
