We WON! Our dispensary WON the 2011 High Times Medical Cannabis Cup for Best Hybrid! This weekend, the medical cannabis dispensary I get my medicine from won the 2011 Cannabis Cup for Best Hybrid at the High Times Medical Cannabis cup in San Francisco. Congratulations goes out to Jason, and the whole D&M Compassion Center crew for their booth and participation in the event. See all the Winners Here!
We WON! Our dispensary WON the 2011 High Times Medical Cannabis Cup for Best Hybrid! This was so totally unexpected. The dispensary owner and most of the staff had gone home already. Manager Chris is congratulated by High Times Grow Guru, Jorge Cervantes on the win! This is the dispensary where I get my meds. This is great news for them. I know they have some of the best medicine on the planet, and now High Times agrees. This was the second High Times Medical Cup in San Francisco, and there were about 6,000 visitors to the event. The winning entry was their OG Kush. Find out more here: http://www.dmcompassion.com
I've traveled around the world seeking out the best cannabis I could find, and low and behold, I ended up in Lake County with the best marijuana supply anywhere (at reasonable prices too). And it just keeps getting better. Soon all dispensaries will supply test results for their products, so you'll know whether the growers did a good job and kept any industrial chemicals out of the end product. D&M Compassion Center seems to have a lot of old skool growers who really know their shit. Lake County until recently was home to Eddy Lepp (now serving 10 years in Federal prison for growing 30,000 plants in plain sight next to a state highway here), and the late Jack Herer, who influenced many growers and cannabis activists in the county and the world.
A group pic of D&M Manager Chris, Jorge Cervantes, Mikki Norris with husband, Chris Conrad. Mikki and Chris Conrad are activists who seek the release of the prisoners of the war on Americans over marijuana.
The Second annual HT Medcup was held in SF at this venue, a big improvement over the smaller venue they used last year. This year's cup was well run, with few problems. Everyone enjoyed themselves!
There were a lot of new products on display including various types of inhalation devices. This company has an e-cig type of vaporizer. They use small cartridges containing concentrated THC. This one worked well, but that wasn't the only attraction at their booth...
Dennis Peron, activist, at the Cup. Dennis was one of the people behind Prop 215, which legalized medical marijuana in California.
The outdoor Prop 215 area was awash in tents offering free samples of edibles and free cannabis (but you had to buy something to get it, like a T-shirt or a jar). This area was packed most of the day, with happily medicated people. :0) The weather cooperated too, with plenty of sunshine all weekend long. The only fog came from the hundreds of spliffs getting passed around.
