I'm looking for a commune anywhere in Florida peferably central Florida. ic.org, i already know about, i want names of communes. i don't know how soon i'll be heading out there, i'm currently in northern Illinois. Even communes in Georgia, South Carolina, and around there would be usefull. Thanks so much, Julia. Stay lifted.
we've got one in virginia!!! : ) http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=396432&f=57 talk to sam!
Interesting. and no fees? thats fairly uncommon but convienet because i don't have a substantial amount of money. Few questions... How many people currently reside there? How long has it been since opening? How do you regulate money to pay bills? and how does living situations such as housing work?
hey : ) well.. one word answers most of those questions: PANIC... : ) there's 4, at the moment, sam (sandra), jessica, rich & myself... sam has opened her doors widely to just about anyone for a year, now... money is catch as catch can.. mostly sam sells stuff at flea markets & on ebay.. i'm currently looking for work, etc. etc... housing is a matter of availability... mostly pop up campers, a school bus & possibly tents... it is.. uhmmm... rough : ) but it more or less works.. : )
Okay, understandable. and im currently learing how to plaque and carve and other wood work that could potentially be porfitable.
we have a small woodworking shed.. Andy, who (who hopefully will come back some day) built it from rough timber, & it has a pretty good assortment of older, used tools.. what we need most, however, are folks willing to work in the garden for 3 or 4 hours a day.. sam says "15 hours a week", but that fluxuates.. a pretty good average, though... it doesn't include things like dishwashing, meal fixing & other personal work, though.. some folks assumed it did, & well... jesus... it takes at *least* 15 hours a week to take care of yourself, much less actually do anything productive, otherwise... but yes, the potential for woodworking & other personal projects is very real, but the *farm* needs at least 15 a week... : )
yeahh, work isnt a problem, at all. most communes require more than that a week. i have farming and gardening expierence, and a god work ethic! so no problem.
buttonsbysandra@earthink.net or email me, skygull@gmail.com i can't PM you, yet, so mail would probably be best. i'm heading back to the farm on... oh hell... i just saw the date... july 4.. but.. my brother will prolly want me to stay for the holiday, which means the 5th or 6th, really... anyways.. i'd def email sam or myself, & see what seems like something you'd like to try... in any case, sam is looking for good workers, and it's at least an.. oh... 'interesting place to land : ) email would work a lot better for me, julia, so let me know, ok? peace, john
