Summer school. (Not because I failed a class, but because I want to take Pre-calculus over summer, to get into Calculus I during my Junior Year of High School. And I'm terrified of the people who ride the summer school bus that don't go to summer school to get ahead) I found it's a lot less strict with regulations regarding footwear. Actually, in general, overall attire too. Then my 7th class out of 10 of Driver's Ed.

It's still early, and already I've been barefoot in Starbucks, McDonald's and the post office (to check my PO box), all with no problems. A great start to the day!

went to town bycicling. on my way back while riding on gravel the rear wheel went BANG ! and the consolation prize was a nice barefoot stroll, a mile of warm dusty country road:sunny:

My friend's house, then to a waterpark, (very barefoot friendly, but it was no surprise.) then back to that friend's house. I think I received, relatively lesser stares and weird looks by cars or pedestrians passing by while we walked back to his house, because the waterpark was around a mile and a half away from my friend's house. (He has incredibly dirty garage floors...)

Since Saturdays are boss-free at the office, I went barefoot to the office, working a half-day shift, also displaying my hippie self by wearing a sarong instead of pants - contrary to the regular weekdays, when I conceal my weirdness (mostly) by wearing regular jeans.
    :D
After work, I went barefoot to do some shopping.

On the way to the office, I got appreciative looks from a young punk woman on the tram - she wasn't barefoot, since she had a mountain bike with her with rather spiky and anti-barefoot metal pedals attached. Her smile at my outfit and lack of footwear was nice and encouraging, though.

Tomorrow, another barefoot visit at the laundromat is on my schedule (the laundry room in my house still hasn't been repaired after the fire in our house on May 31), as well as the barefoot Sunday walk in the park.

    Wiggling bare toes,

I'm working at a call center services company, assisting our call center manager by drawing statistics from databases, doing reports, processing forecasts for one of our larger customers and doing personnel and capacity planning in our project (about 50 people working on customer e-mails).

I'm mostly sitting at my desk, staring at Excel sheets (and doing things with them, too) :D... and have been working for that company for ten years now. When I started there, I was living on a squatted piece of land, together with other freaky people, this being my little "house" of my own:

So, my employer knew what kind of a colorful personality he was going to hire, when I came to my job interview wearing clean, but decidedly hippie clothes (purple harem pants and a black t-shirt, wiggling bare toes in sandals, which I put on just before entering the building - I was barefoot on my way there, of course). It seems that they were thinking of this as a challenge, so they hired me.
    :)

I had been living there for three years, permanently barefoot, before it became imminent, that the city was going to evict us from there. So, I looked for a job, an alternative place to live and three months after starting that job, we were evicted. Our little commune got scattered, I moved into a small apartment and still live there. It was a great experience to live that way, even though I hardly had money. I learned that it's possible to live outside of the system and share things with others instead of following the trails of greed and competition.

To follow their loose dress code of wearing not too colorful clothing, I don jeans and t-shirt outfits for the regular office days, but not always the closed shoes they ask for. Being a little famous in the town I live in for walking barefoot whenever temperatures rise above frost level, they tolerate my wearing flip-flops from spring to fall, proudly showing my bare toes, complete with toe rings and anklets. And, of course, those flip-flops come off as soon as I sit at my desk, and stay off at times when the bosses are out of the office (which happens on late shifts, when I'm in until 8 pm and on early shifts staring at 6 am, since they won't arrive until two hours later).

    Wiggling bare toes,

    ~*Ganesha*~

I've just had an excellent weekend of barefooting. Took my kids into town to do some shopping for a couple of hours on saturday, then out on the beers with some friends, ending in a restaurant in the night. Went out for brekkie this morning alfreso. The weather was superb but I think I've burnt the soles of my feet though on the hot tarmac....they're pretty sore. Never mind, back to work tomorrow which means shoes.....sigh.

Had a full day barefooting yesterday: London Pride. I walked for miles around London's West End - the footpaths are paved and a lovely to walk on compared to the tarmac we have almost everywhere in Slough.

Today was spent barefoot too: a short walk out to get cash and newspapers, then at home.

Back to work tomorrow - ghastly safety boots :(

Yesterday, around 12 miles (5 of them run solo, 7 hiked with a hiking group of 13 through nature, grass, mud) out of a total of 20 traveled by foot in 5 hours. The remainder 8 I wore the very thin "Paper-Feet" since repeated moisture-soaking & sandy gritty surfaces had made the balls of the feet too sensitive to continue barefoot (during the second half of the hike), but I'm glad I did take them, for I would have not been able to return until well after sunset otherwise, as they gave just enough cover against but were subsequently destroyed by the burning-hot asphalt of two ancient, shredded, uneven-surface / grit-covered back-country roads after the hike on the way back...

It's becoming evident that it's always the left foot that gets all the damage / feels sore... :|

Drove home barefoot and saw two barefoot girls (jean short shorts and t-shirts) running after an ice cream truck. I stopped too. They looked at my feet and I looked at theirs. We both smiled...and it kinda got weird...since they were about 15 y/o and I'm 39.
