I like this one, it sums things up nicely.

I have to ask. I, though female, am not Muslim and see no need for a hijab myself. Not my thing, whatever. WHAT do people have a problem with if some other woman wants to wear one? She's not forcing the scarf on them, what do they care?

Please note, that to avoid discrimination the school made her the only student not allowed to wear headgear. If this was not the intent, then the principal would have worked with little Fátima to come to some sort of hat compromise: a ballcap, or bandanna, or something. Instead, she assumes the girl will be beaten at home for taking it off. The professor is surprised that the girl might actually prefer the scarf, and never considers that the girl might just feel naked without it.

Sorry, this turned into a rant, didn't it? Well, frell it. You rant too, if you like. Seriously, if this rule ever starts being talked about in America (I hear it's been enforced on the streets in France...) I vote that bunches of non-Muslim women start wearing them to flip off the Right Wing Psychos. Now if only I could figure out how to tie one... last time I tried, I wound up looking like a demented nun... XD

Join our side of the debate. The Right Wing deliberate the disparity in Self-pity over the failure of man's inhumanity to man, and nature's misfortune for and against progress. Non-muslim women should finance their children's education wholly independent of their lover men.
