    if there is emails and messages proving to the police that you have previously sold drugs through the internet can you be charged for this?

    Sure, although unless you've already been busted it's unlikely. It's not like they're sifting through a trillion e-mails a day looking for drug deals.

    I know that if you say you're selling a class A drug and it's salt or some shit that you can get done for selling class A anyway. (or schedule 1 if you're in usa)

    ^It's a bit more complex in the US, most drug cases are done in state court, and state laws vary greatly. In the state where I live that would get you charged with "presenting non-controlled substance as controlled" which is a class A misdemeanor. A friend of mine got charged that way for 5meo-mipt, bagged up for sale. They dropped it when they caught him with a meth lab in his trunk, but he could have gotten a year in county over it, though probation would have been far more likely.

    So essentially, if it was illegal: you're screwed, if presented illegal: you're screwed, if a research chemical that wasn't for human consumption then I'd imagine the Analogue Act would apply if they wanted a martyr.

    That takes stupid to the higher degree.

    For the transporting or distributing drugs over state lines or across the border, or other specific details, you may face federal drug crime charges rather than state charges. Cases at the federal level that involve drug crimes such as:

    * Federal drug trafficking
    * Federal drug manufacturing
    * Federal drug sales and distribution
    * Internet drug distribution
    * Federal drug importation and transportation
    * Mailing drugs across state lines or national borders
    * Drug smuggling into or out of the United States
    * Other crimes related to drugs and money laundering
    And let us not forget laws surrounding the acceptable use of the United States Postal service.

    if you're going to do this, at least be smart and set up Tor, or at least use public wifi when accessing the email account you're conducting illegal activity from. I'd also suggest that both parties use an encrypted email service like hushmail or something.

    In the United States it is ilegal to use encryption to transmit or otherwise difuse messages of any sort over any medium. Unless, a master key is made available to the appropriate authorities.

    isn't that exactly what BBM (blackberry messenger) is? i remember reading that it was banned in some middle eastern countries because RIM refused to let the governments have the ability to decrypt the messages?

    moot point anyway, since hushmail states on their front page that they will cooperate with any legitimate law enforcement requests.

    moot point since we're talking about bath salts and plant food as silly as it may seem. Would someone please post referenced material of (recently) convicted plant-food/bath-salts salespeople (in the USA)? [different issue than presenting schedule 1 substance as salt; or salt as a controlled substance]

    Oops, no, you were talking about selling drugs on the internet - my bad. Continue on your way citizen. :bobby:

    I noticed your canadian but there is a lot of simularities between our nations.
    I have always been very negative toward technology. Especially, things labled "high-tech."

    From what I understand and this information having been told to me by a college, is all things using encryption are required to have at least 1 master key made available for the appropriate authorities.

    For any company based/headquartered in the United States, or manufacturing/assembling their product in the United States, or with banks/investure in the United States, or with product entering the United States in transit/or final destination. Are required to give 1 master key.

    The law governing the keys,
    The United States will be the sole posser of the most current working master key. All data code, notes, etc must be included in as much that any reasonable effort can be undertaken by american authorities to recreate or create similar for the purposes of enforcing american law or interests, both for the benefit of local communites, states and abroad.

    All other keys created, including for that of the owner of the encryption may not enjoy a functionality of not more than 70% effectivness.

    Sorry for the lawyer drivel. I tend to still think like that.

    Word of advice: Don't use hushmail. Their Canadian servers are compromised by the government.
