I love smoking, but I seem to have a very sensitive throat! 99% of the time I use a bubbler (healthier & more efficient in my opinion)..but I still cough - a lot! I know I cant really control if my lungs get irritated, but its the burning, itchy sensation in my throat thats really annoying. My boyfriend and I have recently started taking popcicles or lollipops with us on our evening stroll when we smoke, and it does help a bit. Any other suggestions as to what helps a burning throat after smoking weed?
Use a bong with fresh as cold as the facet will let you water. Then put ice cubes in it, let it sit for a few minutes so the temp drops even more. Then hit slowly. Other than that i would say drink more water though-out your day and think about taking a longer break. Not everyone reacts the same with side affects. One thing that is good for everyone when something is not right is take a break, and im not talking about a day or two, think weeks.
I don't know if you do this already, but when you inhale the smoke let it sit in your mouth for a split second... don't just inhale it straight down. It will let it cool off a bit and makes it less harsh. That's how I smoke and I usually don't cough. I taught this to some of my friends and they said it helps them with the throat problem a bunch.
Sometimes the same thing happens to me. Try taking a spoonful of honey, or making some tea and putting honey in it. Always works for me.Honey works wonders for an irritated throat, and aside from that it tastes delicious. Just make sure it's real honey, not that stuff cut with corn syrup. Or you can just always try taking a Ricola if it gets really annoying. Hope that helps
sometimes its just the character of the bud you're smoking. i've gotten a few bags lately that were just harsher on the lungs even though its good quality as far as the high. that's usually when i quit worrying about it
