what I would like to know, is where is this list? if he was the most wanted, who is next? where is the list of wanted people? is there one? has anyone seen it?
Frankly, who cares? American police officers shoot our own civillians on a whim during pot raids, shoot black men on the ground with their hands behind their head (oakland, cali. transit cops), shoot people who go for their gun when strange men break down their door with a battering ram and run in with flashbang grenades, costic gasses, tazers, pepper spray/mace, Shooting evil masterminds really doesn't bother me that fucking much, by comparison.
And they're getting worse. Without a doubt, they're some nice policemen out there. But on the average, I would advise everyone to stay as far away as possible of law enforcement. And remember, if you ever get into trouble with law enforcement. SHUT UP!!! As a retired lawyer let me give everyone some advice. Exercise your right to remain silent. Say nothing and wait for a lawyer. Because there is nothing in the Miranda that can help you except for the part of an attorney. Never talk to the police ! Even if charged with a serious offense, the conviction rate drops drastically in situations where the accused never opened his mouth. It's estimated that in most states, 85% of the time law enforcement does NOT have suffficent evidence at the time of arrest. This is why when an arrest takes place, the first thing they do is put the accused to an interrogation room and proceed to try every trick in the book to get them to talk.
Personally, I think they should remake Dad's Army with Daniel Radcliff as the young mother's boy in the scarf. And Ian Mackellan as all the old ones. Osama died... Again? Or did he? Does it really matter, really? Always we must ask the question: What is the real situation? What is really going on while we are watching the soap opera of foreign policy unfold? At the moment the answer is more Western (or Western backed) forces attacking more Eastern countries and their people. Did they -alledgedly- kill the leader of a global radical fundamenalist militant muslim terrorist network or was he just a figurehead of anti-americanism in the middle east? Does his murky past with his family affect things? Does the fact that his family is the 2nd richest in Saudi Arabia and have been friends with the Bushes, amongst others, for decades? It's just one of those things that we'll question and question forever and we'll never know the truth, just like so many things in this fucked up world of ours. So I propose that really it doesn't matter, it only serves as another barrier between us and another spectacle to keep us occupied. We should forget all about it and live in peace forever.
They should have put him in jail for life, with a television in his room, playing endless re-runs of "Law and Order",,,,clunk,,,
either they were ordered to kill him on sight, or they were so pumped up they were unable to realise he was unarmed and they were in no danger. I doubt the US administration would care to clear this point up for us, so the world will probably have to wait 100 years for the papers to be declassified. But my bet is on "shoot to kill", given Obama's satisfaction at having "finished the job".
i expected more from the british... like anybody really believes any more of this u.s war bullshit. there's as much, if not more blood on the hands of unspoken americans - who are becoming more and more afraid that they will lose their 'global leader' status. and this is only the case because they fought the last global war economically, not ethically. american authority is fucked up. oil oil oil oil oil oil oil oil oil oil oil oil oil oil oil.
It's no longer about oil. The only reason we're "getting away with" what we're "getting away with." Is because we are the United States. Banks and businesses have billions tied up in us. We may not be the biggest and meaness military on the street anymore. But no one wants to fight for obvious reasons. The fact is that the United States is a totalitarian nation. And that happens when business and financial interests usurps a government. The only vestible left of the United States is the legal system and with the ever increasing powers being given to law enforcement via technology, that's going to come to an end soon.
i can't find an answer in that post anywhere, it seems a little scattered. i could waffle, people know how much i love to waffle about finance, but i'm not going to.
Seems odd to me, and maybe a little to convenient. A couple months before the ten year anniversary and look we found him! Dead. Great now we can all shuffle out and go home and look like we came to actually do something. Also I find it funny how they managed to find Saddam in like a hole of a town, but couldn't find Osama in a replica of Fort Knox? All the place was missing was a sign and arrow...
Yes Ward Churchill described them as little Eichmans. Not an original thought tho, Lewis Mumford had the original idea
