How about pooling your $$ for renting a houseboat those are fun and can be cheaper. Otherwise, I can only suggest you ask a friend who has a cottage, if you can steal a weekend or two there. Just some thoughts.
geeze..i went for a swim in a remote lake yesterday and it was like swimming in warm piss lol no hypothermia here :d
I'm going up North through Algonquin, North Bay, and up through Val d'Or in July. Is there anything exciting to see in Northern Ontario & Québec ?? Cool places to drop in ?
Ive recently been looking for a parcel of land for myself to build a homestead on Im originally from London working in Alberta and the sooner I save 40grand the sooner my cottage goes up, crown land is dirt cheap in ontario take advantage of it!!!!!!!
really???...where??? because ive been looking for years and the only people the crown sells land to is big businesses and mining companies...preference is given to non-canadian companies who want to rape the ground of its natural resources of course....fuck the regular born here guys up the ass is the policy nowadays http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/en/Business/CrownLand/2ColumnSubPage/STEL02_176757.html
my families parcel of land which has been in the family for 30yrs north of smooth rock falls ontario has been leased from day 1.. BUT last year the crown approached us and asked if we wanted to buy and of course we obliged 1000$ for a lake and millions of acres damn right! saying this theres 10's of thousands of acres for lease either from the crown or from an individual owner/leaser for lease.. otherwise if its not crown land than your buying from a private seller and thats costly sorry if I misunderstood the question but I think i've cleared it up her'es a few sites ive been cheking out the best and cheapest land will be timmins mattheson area north http://www.thelandstore.ca/bush.htm http://recreationland.net good luck
well thanks..that makes me feels tons better to know that the government is also basically GIVING AWAY our valuable crown land to certain people without putting it on the open market wish i knew someone who worked in that department so they could give me some...most of us arent lucky enough to have family who managed to grab a lease back in the day when the price was two peanuts and a handshake
sign a lease its not uncommon for the option to buy later down the road! and a small price to pay for freedom.....the most freedom ive yet to discover anyways nothing is really free in life!
Are you close to the boarder? Look Michigan way. There are so many foreclosed cottages going for dirt cheap.
