If I just walked into a quickie mart or liquor store

yeah, your best bet is to go somewhere run by indians/arabs. also avoid any chain stores. as long as the guy at the counter isn't white, generally the dirtier the store is the less likely they are to check.

not that it matters to me at this point, but that's what i've observed.

 

Just go for it. it is not illegal to try. I used to go in to stores at 18 any buy for me and friends. Never really got carded until i was over 21.

 

You do realize if the person who sells alcohol to you gets caught, they will probably lose their job, and I know where I live, they also get an $800 fine. The guy likely didn't sell to you because he values his income and ability to eat and live, not because he's an asshole. Even over just 6 months. I have a friend who was just accused of selling to a minor, they have no proof other than a girl in line saying he did, now he's got a warrant out for his arrest. Your best bet is to just get someone who is 21 to buy it for you for now. And as far as the looking 21 thing goes, you have to look at least 40 (maybe older by now, they keep adding to the age) to not get ID'd here. And once you turn 21, unless you're an alcoholic, buying alcohol really loses its luster.

 

Who knows. I was pretty disappointed when I turned 21 and wasn't ID'd. Now that I'm 26 it's maybe a 1/4 chance that I get carded.

When it drops to 0% theres always suicide I suppose. :biggrin:

well last night was dope, i actually got ahold of another bit of wine after i drank that 40, my friend picked me up and we went to another kids house to buy weed and get high. So then after that we pot up in some cutty off road location and get high. right before we do that and when we are on the road tho i ask him yo "you got a snack or some shit i can eat bro" and i swear to god in the next 5 10 seconds he whips out a weed brownie hes like "haha howw awesome is that u ask if i got something to eat and i bust that shit out a weed browine " Hahaha we were laughing so hard about that so we split it and we both got super fucking high and i got super high and drunk lol that was about as drunk as i wanna be for awhile tho paying for it now. but it was totallyyy worth itt we were bumping like sick ass macdre and tupac in his truck. the whole day was pretty much just way chill thats all.

 

Just get a friend of yours over 21 to buy you alcohol buuuuddy!

I'm surprised at the age of 20 and a half, you don't have plenty of 21+ friends, lol. When I was 18, that was my first goal, to set out and make friends of the 21 and older crowd.

 

i was lucky. i was randomly assigned a 21 year old roommate when i was 19, and at about the same time a 23 year old started hanging out at the apartment daily, so it was never an issue for me. if anything, the issue was that it was too available...

 

The drinking age needs to go back to 18 anyway. At 18 you are old enough to legally own a business, hire and fire employees, buy property, or go to war and kill people, but buying a beer is too heavy of a responsibility. That's fucked up.

that sucks, I have never understood why can is 19 most prov and us is 21 ? I hated it when I was underage, however I had an older sister with no car and I had a car so she would always buy me and my buddies beer.

 

it's 19 here in ontario, but there are a few provinces in canada where the age is 18 (quebec, alberta, i think BC?). kind of strange that the legal age to drink changes when you drive over a certain line on a map.

it's probably easier to buy underage in the US, just because you can buy booze from a gas station or grocery store - here you can only buy liquor at the government run liquor store, or beer from the government regulated beer store. i guess you can buy beer from microbreweries as well, but nobody seems to think about that when they're underage haha.

 

I don't want to hear it! I live in a dry county. I gotta drive 40 miles just to get my beer.

That sucks! I live in a dry town, but that didn't keep them from opening a beer store just right outside of city limits close to my parents' house and a liquor store just outside of city limits close to my house. So I have to drive, like...4 miles.
