Is there really such a thing as Asexual?

after 30 years of not wanting really either gender i think that's where i am

girls i wouldnt mind a 1 night stand but i could never connect with one ever. honestly i dont even like talking to em but they are hot.

guys i dont mind hanging out but i sure as heck wouldnt want to fuck one haha.

so i read something about Asexual where ya dont like anything but yourself. i'm pretty mucha super anti social so that puts me close lol. think thats what i am?

 

Asexual means someone who feels no sexual attraction for anyone of either gender. You can be celibate, but still have sexual attractions. To be asexual, you can't have any sexual attraction whatsoever. If you're sexually attracted to girls, which it sounds like you are, then you can't be asexual.

As for whether I believe its possible to be asexual, Im sure it probably is. Ive often thought Im asexual, but Ive thought about having sex before, (with a normal body) so I can't be. lol Even though my attractions to others are always far more to do with emotional, rather than physical attraction.

Someone who doesn't like anyone but themselves is narcissistic, not asexual.

 

My cousin thinks I'm asexual, but that's because I think I'm sexy and I love my body.

 

Being asexual has nothing to do with finding yourself attractive. lol You cant be sexually attracted to anyone to be asexual, and that includes yourself.

 

I suspect you are confusing asexual with misanthropic.

Not that there is anything wrong with either, but they ain't the same by a long way.

 

Nope, misanthropic means having a dislike for people, and the human race in general. Loving yourself more than anyone else is narcissism. The OP sounds like he could be misanthropic however. lol Though it is true that loving yourself and finding yourself "sexy", has nothing at all to do with being asexual.

I know this girl who says she's asexual. I find it sort of weird how they're just not attracted at all to anyone D: But I don't know.

 

I would class my wife as asexual - no interest in sex at all.
