just trying to see if there are any fellow wind players out there. i'm pretty much restricted to the clarinet family, but i've played tenor sax for a little while when i was back in high school...
I'm a sax player, sax is my life It's nice to see another fellow wind player around these boards... We seem to be few and far apart! I've had experience with flute and clarinet, but my true love is tenor/barri sax. Also bass... But nothing beats my tenor sax! *Points at silver beauty standing on it's todd in the corner and swells with pride!* I have a musician forums for every type of musician, but there are so great wind players around. It's the Band Basement, it's run by me, and I dont have a link to it right now but I'd invite you to stop by and discuss some things if you'd like
oh for sure, i'll check it out once i find it... if you could post a link or PM it to me, that would be cool...
I play flute - I've played for over 10 years. I can read music and improvise/play by ear. I will send you a sample clip if you PM me with your email address!
I play clarinet pretty decently, but tin whistle is my unique instrument.^_^ I can play some hardcore jigs. Had to give up playing with a group because my old director had something against foreign languages (I took extra French and Spanish classes rather than taking a music class)... ah well. Clarinets rock, both the instrument and the players.
I hope this wasn't supposed to be restricted to woodwinds, because I'm a hardcore brass man. Well, not as hardcore as my teacher was. I started out playing Alto sax in 4th grade. By the time I got to high school I realized that there were way too many sax players or people that wanted to play sax and not many low brass. So, out of the kindness of my heart I taught myself to play trombone to support the band. That summer I took formal lessons where I also was taught to play euphonium. I ended up playing trombone and euphonium untill I graduated. I miss it dearly and hope to get myself a good horn soon.
