    Hi to everyone!

Being new and all, I just wanted to share my story. I am a normal working employee, I wake up every morning, get ready, go to work, meet deadlines, then go home. During weekends I do my laundry or meet with friends. Basically, I am a normal person but recently I have found that I have been living my life all according to a routine, and have found that I am lost in my own routines! I do not know who I am anymore! My close friends suggest that I try meditation, learning from within and who I am inside. I just wanted to know if there are anyone else who has experienced the same and how you got through this? I think I am in my quarter life crisis and will appreciate much help as i can get! thanks very much!

Welcome! I am certain you will find here someone who will answer your questions. I cannot say I am knowledgeable regading meditation, but for me, just sitting there with my eyes closed, listening to some soft or classical music really helps.. Again, welcome to Hip Forums. Peace!

Looks like you need some self-actualisation, my friend. I myself will undertake a journey into the wilderness for such actualisation in a couple of months. Search for the subject of google and youtube, some good stuff comes up. Maslow (of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs fame) is a good person to look up on this subject.

It is not enough to simply meditate, I see that sometimes as people copping out on experience. Experience is the key, experience as much as you can with all your focus, spot by spot. Throw yourself into the pool of life. Fear not rejection, unpopularity, pain or poverty. As the saying goes: "Live without fear, live without hope. Only then will you be truly free."

Much luck to you, though we make our own luck. I'm trying to beam some good energy to you, hopefully it's working.
