A new law was passed in the District of Columbia, making it illegal to dance at the Jefferson Memorial. Which is extremely ironic, since Jefferson was one of the largest supporters of free speech. So some civilians decided to be civilly disobedient, in hoping to change the law. The police then used excessive force to strike down the dancers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Dy2YSRFPb0 This is why they were there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5RXqqf9ivc Fox News: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UyiaR1PDhQ
all kinds of things in jail are free.. Im sure now thats where the saying comes from. . or the pigs are FREE to whoop your ass and you aint going to do shit about it.. If just a few dozen them people decided to be Real Americans and drop kick some pigs, they cant take on everyone. but its seems to me everyone with a camera is a coward.. Just like the media. take pics and get paid to be pussies.. Fuck this country..
lol.. was anyone dancing at the Jefferson Memorial before this law was passed? this is fucking retarded.
Perhaps the real sticking point was that the protestors had not gotten their 'permit'. Though not sure about the permitting process in this regard I'm sure that the protestors would have had to pay a fee for the permit to protest. That just reeks of BS. While I saw no one resisting arrest I saw what looked like a clear case of police brutality. Don't the US Park Police have better things to do like rousting bums sleeping on park benches or hassling long hairs?? Land of the free.....yeah right.
I do not understand how that in any way can be considered "justice". Is it really not just to dance in certain areas? Do those with authority to make decisions really think that they have the right to tell people how they can not do like dance, or wear headphones and bob your head? I heard one of those old time speeches today in a song on the radio about police and government passing law like this, and it getting to the point were we do not leave our homes and just pray for them to at least leave us alone in our home, but they will not. It brought be back to thinking about this instance and how there is no possible way this law can even be considered justice. It makes me want to go there and dance, yet I live in Ontario. How can such invasion on peoples personal lives be rationalized as what is lawful.
There's going to come a time when enough is enough. 5000 people should now show up to dance there and let's see what developes. Is there a tipping point? Would there be another police riot like the '68 democratic convention? Is it time to find out?
