So I dreaded my hair Wednesday night, using backcombing, hair styling glue (I see you cringing) and wax, melting in via straightening iron. Now on monday I'm going sailing, and would definitely like to go swimming, but I don't want my dreadies to fall out (come undone). I also don't want them to come undone in a vigorous anti-wax wash. What am I to do? The wax I have is Murray's, #1 ingredient is petrolatum. Any suggestions?
and I did read the "read this or risk" pages, I'm still unsure what steps to take and am looking for advice :-D
damn man thats precisely the opposite of what I wanna do. I researched via dreadlockhq and they suck. i'm rooting for a constructive problem solving brainstorm that will forever indebt me to this forum
Just go on with your life, stop using wax, wash your hair when you get time, the wax will go after a few weeks, they will inevitably fall out. Just try to forget about it, take down your mirrors!
lol. If you can't deal with them falling out, you can't have locks. If something's falling out, it means there's a problem, because when hair is "locked", it only gets more locked. If it starts falling out, it means that part NEEDS to fall out to properly lock, and the longer you wait the more trouble you'll have with it. Same with wax: gotta go, longer you wait the worse it is.
why would you do all that to your hair?! lol what Jimbo said is right, they will come undone wether you like or not I recomend you to look around the timelines on the forum so you get and idea of what will happen to your hair. good luck
anyways, i would suggest what ive always done which is to first wax with either straight petroleum jelly or warming lube. then i put a little beeswax on the tips and burn the edges off with a lighter. then if you palmroll for a while, they turn out really nice and round, kind of like bob marley's.
