So, for my English final I need to write a short children book about a 2nd grader i talked to and all she liked was the ocean, fish and finding nemo. I've been working on it for almost a week and it's lame as hell.
Any ideas? It'd be greatly appreciated. :sunny:

For a little girl? You probably want action, humor and romance, all wrapped up in a crab story.

First you've got to ask yourself what does a crab want? To be a dolphin. You've got a lovely girl crab trying to be a dolphin and ignoring the special crab in her life.

Only after a series of unfortunate events does the importance of her crabmate to her become apparent.

They smooch while a rapping platypus bids the little girl in all of us goodnight.

I suggest embellishing it...maybe saying she is a girl who all of a sudden becomes a fish and have a story line similar to Finding Nemo? But then have it end with her waking up from the dream...

Then flushing herself down the commode to be with her fish friends when she realizes her parents are drunks.

OR maybe she realizes her parents are drunks and are already flushed so she flushes herself to be with the Nemo crew again and they live happily ever after in the sewer system

Maybe write a story of a little girl who magically gets turned into a mermaid and makes friend and enemies with various ocean inhabitants. Then, when into gets into some danger/trouble and/or starts missing her family and her home, her fish friends help her find a way to become human again and return home.

You could even put a twist at the end of it, like it was all actually a dream or something. Wizard Of Oz style. lol

just turn in what you have. english teachers don't grade for for content, they grade for participation.

    Make the humour nonsensical.

For example; there once was a chicken who loved peanut butter. The other chickens didn't like him because they all ate lemons, but lemons are EVIL.

    That kind of thing.

I have to give it the child. So I wanted it to be decent, If it was just for my teacher I would have blown the whole thing off.

Anywhore, I think I'll do something along the lines of a sleeping mermaid, who loves a crab and misses home, but doesn't wanna go home cause of the evil chickens.:)
    Thanks everyone!
