I am curious what most people's thoughts are on this topic. Are you a person that will step on anyone/anything to get to the top..professionally? I personally feel that it's wrong..and the person with the most experience and best fits the position..should get the job. So..what do you think?
well, i think that the person with the most experience and best fits the position should get the job. unfortunately, i know damn well that the person who knows the hirer gets the job, and if that doesn't apply it just goes to the best bullshitter. no, i don't step on people. i just do a better job than everyone else, to the point that people have to notice. one of the few good things about my job is that stepping on people in order to succeed is not really a part of the game, at least at my level. and this job is not my career, so i have no interest in going back to any higher level than i'm currently at here.
Nope I refuse to fuck people over or kiss ass, which is why I am a nobody. If I do move to the top it will be because I earned it the old fashioned way, by good hard work and honesty!
I also agree with MayQueen...but we will continue to be nobodies because it is the right way. We were obviously both taught very well about work ethics. To GrampaF...you say you have and will continue to step on people...clearly that's not working out for you..or you wouldn't have to keep doing it...my opinion...clearly biased..lol
No i wont step on anyone, i'm not someone who goes looking for trouble. Though if someone tries to step on me ill do everything in my power to crush them. It will always be behind the scenes. If you were serving 5 plates of food your the only one that knows who is getting a cold meal.
No matter how good things are their are always people who find it necessary to hurt others, i don't think ill ever understand why.
I would never step on anyone in my quest to reach the top; I just wait patiently until the next position becomes available and then pounce Hotwater
As far as the jobs I've had go, getting to the top has never been a prospect to fill me with any enthusiasm. But then, I've never defined myself by my job - they've only ever been a matter of economic survival, and I think the most any one lasted before it was time to move on was two-and-a-half years. Real life was always suspended the moment I clocked in, and resumed when I clocked out. Another thing to remember is that more power = more responsibility. Do you really want that extra responsibility ? .
define top? humans are gullible about little green pieces of symbolic value. so? that's their problem. the dollar bill is like beggin strips for humans. ok, so i'm legally human. still not my problem.
I work better and more than anyone else in the same position as me. I also work independently, when I'm done, I go to other people from other departments to see if they need help with anything. Everyone loves me.
It's been stated that after you've fallen from the top, you pass the same people on the way down that you saw on the way up.
