I saw the BBC movie of Fanny Hill a couple of months ago and really enjoyed it. Now I'm on chapter two of the book and loving it. I'm surprised that an 18th-century book describes sex so openly, but I think it's very well written. Has anyone else read this book? What did you think?
I first stumbled upon a copy of Fanny Hill when I was about 13 and it was my favourite bedtime reading for quite a while....
I have just started reading it - great style! I love Victorian (and earlier) erotica. The School of Venus is great.
Ms. Hill seems to be inclined to talk around the subject of sex, I feel. Can anyone give me a plot outline of it?
