i have no idea how to quantify my amount of stuff. i have a decent amount. i rarely throw things out, but i also rarely make impulse buys. you don't fuck with a man's shot glass collection.
Or.. you don't fuck WITH a man who has a shot glass collection. Who has a shot glass collection, apart from guys who are in the mafia?
This time last year, I had nothing but a suitcase full of clothes. Now, I have a house full of stuff. A lot in here in my partner's, but we've also collected things together over the last year or so. We have some really beautiful objects
Men who try to remember the days they acquired them...but the memories are all a blur... In my defense, I told him to put the shotglass collection up, as long as he promised to dust them and keep them clean. They are taking up 3 boxes in my closet right now.
I have 59 years of junk piled up, I occasionally take a truck load to the flea market to sell, but its hard to let go of some priceless junk at times....;-D
I can fit literally everything I own into my Subaru Outback. This includes me and my 45 lb dog. ....I move alot. :/ It's mostly clothes and books.
My furniture consists of a bed, a dresser, an old desk, and an antique tv, all of which I love for sentimental reasons and will stay with me always, unless I just decide to hit the road one day, in which case that shits going in storage. I just always depend on roommates to provide the living room furniture. If I ever live alone I'll just have to sit on the floor. I'm a sentimental twit so I have a couple of shoeboxes of letters and pictures that follow me everywhere too. Other than that, a shit load of books...books that take up many heavy boxes when its moving time and end up being a huge pain in my ass. Oh, and way too many clothes. I haven't bought new clothes in almost two years and I recently gave away a huge box and 3 bagloads of clothes, yet I still have too many clothes. I feel guilty everytime I look at my overflowing dresser and closet.
I had a shot glass, but I accidentally broke it trying to catch a stink bug I'm also too lazy to quote
not much, i'm kind of an anti-hoarder.. every so often i'll go through the house and junk whatever i want.. or don't want, as it were... i make a lot of trips to the Goodwill too, very rarely i'll buy anything though
once in a while I load up the truck with good stuff and throw it out to make room for more better stuffs
thankssss. ever see hoarders? if i didnt throw shit out without him knowing, my house would look like that. so thanks for YOUR advice.... NOT :sunny: 99.99999 % of the time, he never even notices. and if he does, i am honest, telling her to lie was just me being funny. i would not throw something out that was valuable or meant something to him. we moved into a new house last june and had to throw away an entire basement and attic full of shit that he (and me too) didnt want to throw out, so i kept it, and it just sat and sat and sat until we moved and threw it out anyway. it was a HUGE pain in the ass to go through it all and it's something that will be avoided in the future if i can help it.
also, "the things we own end up owning us" or something like that. stuff is stuff is stuff. if my house burned down tomorrow and i still had my family, i would be content.
Exactly! I look at stuff as tools for creating better stuff. Life is not about how much stuff you have but what you do with your stuff. If my stuff doesn't have a direct practical purpose it goes to the mission store or Goodwill. I hate paying retail and sales tax so I try to buy stuff used at second hand stores or garage sales, auctions.
Gotta have somewhere to store the bodies... I'd say #3 probably. Most of my stuff is books, records, and cds. Not too much stuff.
