You know, it may not work for you, but I've found the thing that works best for me is not washing my face much at all. I still wash off my eyeliner and eyeshadow and all that, but I don't wash my face the way I used to. It still gets rinsed and patted dry after a shower, but that's as far as it goes. Your skin needs some of that oil it produces and washing it all away just sends your pores into overdrive, making it worse.
1/4 cup crumbled dried rose petals 1/4 cup crushed dried lavender 1/4 cup crushed dried chamomile 1/4 cup crushed dried lemon balm 1/4 cup crushed dried rosemary 3 cups apple cider vinegar. Simply dab it on twice a day.
Lemon juice as an astringent, a 50/50 mix of baking soda and oatmeal (optional, one can just use the soda, but either way it will tingle) as a cleanser, and a strong basil/cucumber/rosemary tea as a toner. Works wonders for me, though you say you've tried the soda. If needed, one can rub crushed garlic on pimples, I hear this makes them absorb quickly. Never tried it, myself. I find popping them early makes them go away without marks, and it's kind of like bubble wrap... I know, I'm sick. The shaved skin might be ingrown hairs, rather than zits. Um... aloe, maybe? Stop shaving and make friends with your hair? I dunno. At your age, though, I'd just wait the pimples out. Puberty sucks. But I never really had bad acne problems. Just oil. Lots of oil, hence the rosemary.
wash with an oil. Not kidding. I can't remember the particulars right now but if you Google it, you'll get the info needed. And drink lots of water
It's really all about what you are eating throughout the day. If you are following through with cleansers and nothing seems to work then you might have to look into what you are consuming everyday. Drinking lots of water will help!
also don't touch your face a lot, like if you need to lean your head on something put something between your hand and your face
You need to treat it from the inside. Go to the drugstore or health food store and buy some garlic tablets. Usually, each tablet or gel cap contains the equivalent of 500 mg of garlic. Take one or two tablets a day before bedtime. Garlic is a natural antibiotic (among other goodies) and it should help clear up the mini infections of acne. I had pretty severe adult acne in my 20s and 30s but since I started taking garlic regularly it disappeared. Hope it works for you too.
I would say to drink a lot of water, they say 8 glasses a day, I'd drink about 10 to 12, because most people are dehydrated anyway. Besides, thirst is often disguised as hunger. The water will help get any infections out of your skin. Another thing I can suggest is a hot bath (as hot as you can muster) throw in some epsom salts and a few drops of lavender essential oil (lavender is a natural antibiotic). Hey, and sometimes I get acne when fasting, just means all the crap is trying to get out of my body...Gross, I know, but sometimes it's a good thing and a good sign of detoxifying. If it's just your skin tho, another thing you can think is that people with oilier skin tend to get less wrinkles, another plus for those of us who are prone to acne. Avoid any and all greasey foods and unnatural sugars (carbs). Eat more vitamin C and raw fruits and veggies. Hey I will only get one a month now when I used to have a whole face of them. Also, what above poster said about Garlic...garlic is AMAZING, you should take it (or preferably eat it raw) anyway! Good luck!
Some kinds of birth control help a lot. I guess it's not really a home remedy but it does have double the good effects ha.
My girlfriend has a book that maria menounos wrote, which has a lot of good tips. In it, she recommends the Mario Badescu skin care drying lotion. It worked on me, and I'm not ashamed to admit I learned it from menounos. hehe.
