Hey all, well I have had a problem with my skin for years now and lately I've been noticing that it always seems clogged. I wash my face every night and sometimes in the morning..but mid-afternoon, it seems to be congested with black heads and dirt. I think I eat a pretty balanced diet, meat and all. I'm just wondering what is causing my face to always have blackheads. Maybe there are better foods that are better to eat?? It's hard to wash more than 2 times a day.. my skin just gets so dry. any advice out there?

hm, what kind of fats/oils do you ingest? if you're getting rancid or trans fats, that could be part of the problem. if you live in a smoggy polluted area, the clogged pores could be self defense.

and jojoba oil! it's purportedly the oil that most closely resembles the oils that our skin naturally secretes.

well, I try not to eat very much fatty things, although I'm sure that does have a part to play on the occasion...that's interesting you pointed out the polluted area, I didn't think about that and come to think of it, the area I live in is so horrible because I live in a valley and every winter, we always have these red alert pollution days..also, jojoba oil, I don't know very much about, do you slop it on, or do you ingest it? All I know is it's good for the hair. anyway, thanks, you put some very reasonable possibilities out there.

i wouldnt ingest jojoba. it does feel lovely just slopped onto the skin though. :D

have you read any of the info about healthy fats on the wapf website? i hook you up with a link. anyways, all fats arent bad, the opposite it true, we need certain fats to make our bodies work properly because each cell in our body contains fats and our brains contain a lot of fat. anyways, here's more information than you probably ever wanted to know about fat and why some fats are dangerous and why your body really needs certain fats... http://www.westonaprice.org/know_your_fats/know_your_fats.html
