Kids lost rat dog.....live near highway......looked for rat dog....rat dog on highway.....parked on shoulder......rat dog runs away.....caught up in barbed wire (ruined NEW pants)......dodged cars, emergency flashers, middle of street....rat dog acting funny, finally talked rat dog into car......kids go YAYYY!.....picked off ticks And that concludes this episode of Extreme Dog Rescue.....tune in next to watch me save my rat dog from a bear attack. Good night, be safe, and remember to keep that DAMN DOG ON A LEASH! SN: I don't even like the dog but I love my kids
I've picked 7 ticks off me in the past month and am on antibiotics now in case I have lyme disease. Since I was "lucky" enough one of the bites had a rash around it, it was enough not to make me go through running "titers" which measure if I actually had lyme disease and cost over $100 around here - not counting the dr visit. Even though I live in rural SC, I've still never ever encountered so many ticks (on me) in such a short time! But really, missfontella, I wanted to know what a rat dog is and what it looks like.
I love my rat dog. She's good though, she USUALLY comes when I call, and heels well, at least if I'm ready to wheel around with an accusatory finger pointer in her general direction if I hear her stop following. Then again, a highway and barbed wire sounds like the kind of place she'd love, and go play without paying me any mind. *edit* dayum, you've got a BIG rat dog. My adopted mini chihuahua can sit in a normal looking fashion on ONE of my hands, though she has to lean against my chest for balance.... Good thing too, she's the most clumsy dog I've ever seen, slips and falls while walking on flat linoleum.
That sounds like a good dog. Ricky is spoiled, sleeps in the bed with my oldest daughter, and is a complete PUNK. He's a needy, whiny little thing. Although, in his defense, he was tramatized as a puppy. He watched a huge pitbull eat his sister. He really probably should be on some type of antidepressant. But, you know, my black card would be revoked if I put a dog on meds for his mental health so we just try to make him feel safe. with his punk ass.....
Ahh.... throw his punk ass in a crate at night. This dog's probly a bit traumatized because I'm not really a dog person, and use and abuse the practice of crate training, but so far it's house broken her, and given me somewhere to order her when i need her out of the way or whatever, and generally given me a basis for manipulating her to do the rest of the silly things mean people like me expect of tiny dogs, like not rolling in larger dog's crap, or not chasing dogs 10x her size. But she did start out as the sweetest small dog I've ever met, which is why I've bothered so much with her, when she's not TECHNICALLY even mine.
Oh, nooooo. He is just precious, and most certainly the type that could take over. period. and with no problem
