The system is too far gone for any meaningful fix to occur in the voting booth... and the level of economic collapse necessary to wake up enough of the public will result in a situation not worth saving... assuming we aren't there already. My guess is that a total economic collapse is imminent with hyperinflation, food shortages, and an infrastructure crumbling from widespread neglect. The money that runs the show- that does not get elected but uses a bought-off congress to enable the continued looting the working class of a once very rich country via legislation sold as economic recovery, bailout, and quantitative easing- will continue to do so behind the scenes... whether Barack Obama, Donald Trump, Ron Paul, Hillary Clinton, or Huckleberry Hound are elected president. Congress has the power only to sell legislation as being in our interest... and it's the job of our "educators" as well as mass media to ensure we lack the critical thinking skills to tell the difference. My guess is that no matter who gets elected in '12 we are so royally fucked that we are on our way to becoming a returnee to third world status regardless. Once we're picked clean it will be on to greener pastures for the oligarchs and cronies... and THEN we'll actually have a government of, by, and for the people- with no resources, no manufacturing base, no capital... nothing to work with. Those who become vocal during this looting process will likely be locked away as domestic terrorists and the chaos precipitated by widespread unemployment poverty will furnish justification for suspension of the illusion of human rights and the instituting of martial law.
stinkfoot, i agree however, i'd like to see sarah palin get elected just for shits and giggles. i'm already laughing my ass off at this fucking train wreck, and that would just be the fucking icing on the cake. refudiate that
Machinist- you seem to grasp politics for what it's good for- cheap yuks, shits and goggles. Nero is tuning his violin because Rome has begun to burn.
Poly Ticks --> Poly Tricks --> Poly-Tickle in a Pickle --> Poly gone Quackers Donald T Rump Nero the zero hero Home sweet home no more shall I ROME !
Hasn't Trump hinted at running before? In fact I read somewhere that he has hinted at running time and time again but never does. He just likes being fawned over by the 24 hour cable networks.
Damn Obama justs bends over for the oil companies and the republicans. People are seriously talking about Palin and Trump as leaders of the United States. It's enough to make a man want to dig his own grave and jump right in it.
I don't know what disturbs me more, that one of the wall street fat catz that got us in this financial mess has the nerve to run for president or that a good chunk of the American people are gonna take him up on the offer. SMH...Obama isn't much better but I think if he gets a 2nd term he'll be less bi-partisan (a good thing in this political environment) since he'll be less worried about relection.
Well your point is taken but bear in mind that it was a decade plus of willful dereliction of regulatory responsibility on the part of our government that had a much bigger effect in creating the mess than anything Donald Trump did. They deliberately protected the commissioning of this grand scale embezzlement- the annexing of what had been held by the middle class- the use of real estate and its reputation as a lock to always rise in value to draw people into investing in deliberately toxic mortgage packages. We had a longstanding fed chief (Alan Greenspan) who not only demonstrated he knew what was going on by inexplicably (at the time- we now KNOW why) keeping interest rates artificially low but also threatened the career of the head of a mostly window-dressing style regulatory agency when she began to express concern for the derivatives packages that contained the toxic mortgages. Trump would fit right in. It wasn't just Wall Street that created this- it was our very own government with ITS hands dirty from involvement in this racket to co-conspired to shove this crime right up the ass of the middle class. The United States federal government is an illegitimate criminal body without the moral authority to do anything beyond pleading guilty to its part in numerous crimes- both here and abroad. Again, Trump would fit right in.
http://blogs.abcnews.com/george/201...rabia-seize-oil-fields-in-libya-and-iraq.html And you want this guy for president.. I suppose I should reenlist now...
I feel rather nihilistic about the whole thing. On one hand, I think Trump would certainly look out for his own self interest and I think another rich businessman fighting for the top 1% of the wealthiest is obviously not what this country needs, but on the other hand....I'm finding it hard to give a shit. If its not Trump its going to be some other asshole that gets paid off by people like Trump. As long as this country is ran by that top tier of the wealthiest Americans and the gap between them and us keeps widening, we're fucked either way. The celebrity surrounding him does make me want to bang my head on a wall. Haven't we had enough of celebrity culture without electing a celebrity as president? Not that it really matters to me, because I'm feeling rather apathetic about this too, but his birth certificate as issued by the state of hawaii is on public record. So look it up and stop believing that retarded myth.
Look here I am just as confused about which way to turn as everyone else. None of us have many choices anymore, we vote who they set up there for us to look at. I am not political but I do love my home and I want to continue living in it. IDK who is lying.. they all lie. IDK what is in a man or woman's heart when they are standing up there telling us how they will fix everything. In my opinion, it seems to me that if we need our economy straightened out that a buisness man who has a very large stake in the country would be a good canidate to fix it. What's available, who's gonna run. Who's the media gonna cram down our throats. I just hope something good happens for a change and someone will step up and acctually do something of the people. sh
I don’t believe that Donald Trump is really running for president. If he was he would have already launched a reality show in which people compete to be his running mate. I think we can all agree that Gary Busey would totally win that one. Trump filed for corporate bankruptcy in 1991, 1992, 2004 and 2009. Just because Donald Trump says he is good with money doesn’t mean he is good with money. Like most people who run for public office, he lies. He doesn’t make good decisions. Look at his hair! You think that jacked up comb over is good decision. During an appearance on THE VIEW, Trump joked that if his daughter, Ivanka, wasn’t his daughter, he would date her because she’s so hot. You think that’s a good decision. Maybe in Alabama …(apology to Alabama) Hey , this is Amerika- -he has the $$, the desire, and he knows how to start a buzz- He is also over 45, was born here and can do this if he really wants I just have a hard time taking the guy seriously- - but Lottsa Luck Donald If Amerika, could deal with Sara Palin for a election- -imagine the sound bites Donald would provide- - never mind the material for every talking head and late nite comic around- - Stranger things have happened * *
well this is what he's been doing in scotland and frankly it's a disgrace http://youtu.be/Zk-MHQE2xPQ clearly he thinks he can buy anyone and any thing so that's not necessarily a good thing to be voting for. then again - america is huge and you have lots of room for golf courses and to hell with mother nature, wildlife, protecting the planet. i think the scariest things i have been reading in here is peoples obsession with oil prices. how about alternatives? more public transport infrastructure and less gas guzzling waste. surely that's the kind of president you'd want. and from this side of the pond, for what it's worth, obama is having to deal with bush's screw ups, obama didn't start the world recession but it seems like people are blaming him for it. the state should be responsible for the welfare of it's citizens - that's why we pay tax. for the first time america seems to have a president who is actually trying to address this despite not existing in the general psyche of americans to think in social principles. please don't be offended - it's just how i see things from here. i never was able to figure it out - a country born out of repression of so many people (s) that is so repressive to it's own in terms of social justice. bizzarre..... oh and by the way, i lived in the us for a year once upon a time....
If you guys get Trump as president I kinda feel like going to Yemen to a terrorist trainingcamp and fly an airplane in the white house...
i doubt he would run. hes smart enough not to. this country is too big of a mess and anyone that thinks they can fix it immediately (o-blah blah) are on crack.
