Gaddafi's son killed

Discussion in 'Latest Hip News Stories' started by Deleted member 157313, May 1, 2011.

  1. Gaddafi's son and 3 grandchildren were killed in a Nato air strike last night! These air strikes are supposed to be targeting "strategic,non-populated areas" but Saif al-Arab al-Gaddafi was in a building in a residential area according to the latest news releases. How is this justifiable?

I heard that there was civil war in the African country Cote D'Ivoire. The question was asked why isn't America interested in that civil war?

It's fucked up. We all remember what happened in Lockerbie in 1988, and I doubt very much that Gadafi will be best pleased about this. The shit may be about to hit the fan.

Which son got killed anyway? Was it that baldy twat that was on TV? I don't like him.

That was 1988. 23 years ago. Why attack Gaddafi now for that. That doesn't add up.

I believe it was his youngest son, who is not really anything to do with politics, and 3-4 pre teen children.

Imagine if G had nukes. Pretty scary to think about, this could happen in any of the countries the US has sold nukes to. If G goes nuts and goes on a killing spree NATO will have lots of blood on its hands.

  8. That's what worries me, Gaddafi will be looking for revenge.

Gaddafi is an asshole dictator, and his sons are probably assholes to. The son who was killed (Khamis) ran the Khamis brigade, who attacked many so called "rebel" forces, so he's not exactly an innocent.

It's a shame that his grandchildren died, but he's responsible for their deaths in my opinion, no one else. If he would have stepped down and gave up his precious power, they might still be alive.

makes me wonder why they have to go in guns blazing like this while gaddafi runs for cover. why not go in covertly with a small group of snipers and take the cocksucker out with one bullet? i guess two guys one bullet doesn't support the war industry.

Because then we wouldn't get to play with our new toys. The defence industry likes it when it's customers test out their products in real life combat scenarios, it's a handy advertising platform for them.

It's all about the oil, alright. If there wasn't any oil in Libya the rebels would've been wiped out while the world looked the other way. Look at Syria...

While I highly doubt that any of us have the whole picture it is nice to see that some people are understanding the nature of US foreign policy. If we could only effect some sort of "reverse stupidity" mass debriefing of the population so that they would call the gubbermint on its transparent bullshit the instant they spew it...

No this Gaddafi was not the one on TV. He was very low key. Probably why daddy was hiding with him.

Its justifiable if it is the means to a quicker end with less collateral damage than we're used too. Shit to me this makes Obama seem subtle compared to Bush's methods. A couple children and the ACTUAL RELATIVE to the dictator in question is much better than our current track record. In Iraq we have spent well over 3000 American lives and over 90,000 Civilian Lives to remove a "horrible dictator and help govern the people". A heavy cost to remove a dictator, Team America World Police comes to mind. But if your talking Oil and look at it from their point of view a hundred thousand lives or so is justified in their mind either by the nation of 300 million they need to support or the gold lining of their own pockets. Its a harsh truth. But truth none the less.

Libya's oil output has extensive potential, with American riggers on the job we could get an annual output of 2.5 million barrels a year out of Libya if we took all of the oil fields, 1 million would be a bit more realistic. The cost of production is comparative to 'cheap rent' if your common to occupying foreign nations and need something to stick your red white and blue straw in. Hopefully, HOPEFULLY we can continue to strike from a distance and maybe this stubborn bastard will call it quits, cause god knows we cant be seen turning a blind eye to something America is guilty of. But Obama has called himself a peaceful man, so its honestly anyone's guess at this point.

In short we are a big, fat, ugly, hungry and tyrannical mosquito. Feeding on the grease of the earth, regurgitating the means to appear patriotic and true to the people who un-knowingly depend on them. This country is and always has been made and bred to benefit from conflict/war. We run up our private tab then go find some comparatively defenseless elder in an alley somewhere, kick the shit out of them, and take what ever they have to offer. Its sad, but true. We need to work out alternate energy, and fast. Because if we don't...this WILL continue. Count on it.
