In today’s modern age vehicles are how we get around. In fact there a main basis for how are society, culture and economy work. So what would your opinions be for car/transportation vehicle insurance becoming government ran? How would YOU suggest such a system be done?

    Discuss.. :D

It would work just like Obama Care is proposed to work; in a fucked up way!!

For one thing, you would get in trouble if you drove to much. Your brother 600 miles away gets arrested and needs to be bailed out of jail? Well, that 1200 mile trip is going to put you over your mileage limit.

There were be much less competition, just like in the health care industry today. That's just how the government works, they work a monopoly. So, you'd be paying $150/ month to insure a Civic that stays in a garage in a safe suburb when you have a safe driving record.

You would get in trouble if you had a car that was too flashy or expensive and thus was a risk . But on the flip side when things like back up cameras become mandated those of us that don't have them would get penalized. And they could do that because, like I said above, where else you gonna go? The bus?

You may think I'm just a raving capitalist Republican, but I am dead serious about this; ObamaCare is going to kill millions of people prematurely and cause lots of pain. THAT IS A FACT!! And your government run car insurance plan will cause millions to no longer be able to afford their cars, and thus possibly lose their jobs.

No government anywhere at any time has ever in the history of the world run any business or enterprise as fairly, efficiently, or effectively as the private market. You socialists just like to have the government run things, because "That's more fair" They say it's more fair, but that is their synonym for tyrannical. Bullshit, this is AMERICA!! In America we made the free market system to be the best possible system anywhere on earth in history. You want your government run systems, move elsewhere, because there are lots of other places that love there governments, we don't. We take care of ourselves and don't rely on the government. I trust 90% of the companies in the US before I trust the government supplying paper clips. You had a bad experience with a company, haven't you ever heard of Angie's list? Go find another company. When it's government run, they will take all your money, give you crappy service and you are screwed!!

From what I've read govt. run health care in Canada and Europe is much better then in the USA. Far cheaper with way better care. US healthcare costs are out of control and low quality for the prices hospitals charge.
Free market was good with healthcare until collusion, greed and lobbyist corrupted the free market.

Government run health care in Europe and Canada is health care for the healthy. If you break your arm or get the flu, but are otherwise healthy, then it's great. But try having a baby born with some disease, or trying being old and thus not able to contribute to society anymore.

There are many free market solutions for the problems of healthcare. Government is messing up the system so people say "Health Care is messed up, the government has to save it." How can the government save health care when they are the cause of the problems in the first place.

I agree govt has messed up some practices like seniors going to Canada to get meds for a fraction of US costs. Big pharma cried foul and Govt banned Americans from the Canadian market. The govt. runs Medicare for elderly and its a very good program. Corporate hospitals and for profit insurance corps have driven healthcare costs so high that the average family cant afford health insurance. Workplaces are no longer offering insurance w/out huge co-pays and deductibles.
