    This blew my fucking mind!

This woman on the radio said that according to the teachings of Jesus, we are actually all one, all of humanity is one experience, experiencing itself. Separation is an illusion.

Pretty common idea, not exclusive to Jesus' body of thought, but here's where my mind got blown...

This woman theorized that because nothing can't really exist and nothing can't cause something, such as a big bang, the only thing that could have existed then was the energy that is us, that is everything in the universe, energy, light. Matter is condensed energy, and perhaps condensed thought (thought is energy). She said that perhaps the big bang was actually caused by the release of our condensed, unified energy into individual matter, the illusion of individual energies (our bodies) and that the further we get away from the oneness we once were, the more chaotic and uncomfortable the experience becomes. i.e. violence, etc. etc.

Sin is the separation from the oneness we once were. The more we "sin" the more we distance ourselves from that unified energy, light.

She then said that Jesus' teachings are ultimately a way to guide humanity back towards that oneness, towards the unity of energy (light) that we really are. The "love thy brother as thyself," part was Jesus' way of saying that we should treat each other as if everyone else is ourselves, because really they are us.

I'm not saying she's right or wrong, or that I even believe it. But while listening, what she was saying caused my mind to collapse on itself for a couple seconds.

She put it much more eloquently than I just did of course.

I should explain that she's explaining the Turin Shroud and is explaining how light (of Jesus returning to the one body of energy (light - "heaven") created the image on the shroud.

The ego, she then went on to say, is what we have created to justify the illusion of our individuality. The ego makes it so hard to realise the truth that we are all one, energy, undivided. And she claimed that we can become a part of that oneness, energy, light again when we dissolve the ego and learn to live without it, partly by recognizing the message of Jesus.

She's not pushing Christian thoughts or religious thoughts, just what she feels is behind the shroud and Jesus and his teachings. She claimed that (in her opinion) the best teachers have taught such material, rather than push religious dogmas and traditions.

    Interesting show.

    Maybe, who knows...

I've thought of certain aspects of her theory before, such as illusion, ego, separation, etc. I just never considered the big bang part of her theory, that's what blew my mind.

interesting concept. i've actually dreamt something similar like all humans experiences are connected and that we are all the one being but no-one knows it.
however all i had was the strange feeling.. no story or rationale to go with.

Metaphysics has shown us a lot about how connected we all really are.

    "I am another yourself."

I don't remember where I read that but I've always liked it.

Its interesting that this is applied to Christianity. I've heard similiar concepts but never in relation to a major monotheistic religion.

We all (not just mankind, but everything in existance) must come from one source. This theory makes a lot of sense to me.

Well, it's applied to the teachings of Jesus. The woman was quick to point out that Christianity, how we know it, and how it is usually taught, is a completely different body of thoughts on the matter.

She was quick to point out that it's not necessarily got anything to do with religion or faith.

Almost comes off as more of a gnostic theory, or philosophical. But she seemed pretty quick to avoid getting lumped in with Christianty, as most people know it anyways.

See. People always point out the negative aspects of acid like trying to fly out a window or becoming a glass of OJ. Point out the good like realizations such as these.

I've been trying to find anything about her. For some reason they didn't list her as a guest on the program's website. I'll post anything if I can find it.

Thanks...its always worth while to hear from people who actually think as opposed to the loud mouths that babble the same old shit. Christianity isn't ever gonna be my religion but I totally respect those who actually follow the wisdom Jesus offered

Same here, that's why I was so receptive to what she was saying. As I said, she was very quick to distance the subject from organized religion and faith, which made me more interested in what she had to say.

She spoke of Jesus' teachings in the same way most speak of Socrates, Descartes, etc.

An unbelievable angst caused by the intense joy of being that must find expression. We see a singular magnanimous intent.

You've said that love is extension by creation (or is it creation by extension). Perhaps for love to experience itself the result was the extension of our energy, created into seemingly individual forms.

I believe I addressed my conception of this in my thread-"exactly the same", in a way. I can't get behind the sin part tho. Too local. Eventually we --a huge WE--will return to ALL that changes form again and again and will remain in the eternity that IS -into the form that is next for us. Dust in the solar winds.

That is what it looks like to me, like a cut diamond with many facets, each one depending on the other for it's sparkle. Creation is extension and I think we are spinning off phenomena that we are unaware we have responsibility for. We do not recognize our own creations. It is though we were a bird in a cage looking in a mirror and believing we had seen another bird.

Interesting right up until she mentioned the shroud of turin which was carbon-14 dated sometime around the early middle-ages

I didn't see what lunar is talking about, but I too wished I hadn't heard that.
However, because of the possibility of contamination, the previous results from testing have been cast into doubt. I think we are officially at the inconclusive point as regards the testing.
