My friend was boiling a big batch of cactus tea and after getting the liquid to a manageable level, strained the resin out of the cactus pieces and attempted to boil it down even further. But, much to his dismay, he returned to find it completely dehydrated and burnt to a crisp. He then freaked out and took it out and dissolved it in some water. So his question is, are the desired chemicals still active? The solution seems to have a similar consistency as the tea, but he is unsure about the effects of heat on alkaloids. Thank you all for helping this guy out!
