i was interested in doing methadone recreationally as he can get it for fairly cheap but he dose understand it wouldent be much of a high compared to dilles or oxy what opiate or opioid would you compare it to. and i am aware of the potency and dangours accosiated with methadone
Well, Methadone binds to the mu opioid receptors only which causes the user to experience euphoria. So yes it can be used recreationally. Now it doesn't get you HIGH like roxi or Heroin but it does cause euphoria and you do catch the infamous "nod"... I like methadone. Well... I used to. Back when i first started using opiates and i had NO tolerance what-so-ever I could take a wafer or two and be zonked for 2 days. But the high just isn't the same. I knew a guy that was taking 120 mg of methadone a day and wasn't getting high off of it at all so he would take a small dose of some kind of benzo and he would get really fucked up. But I saw a documentary about mixing the two and it sounds stupid and dangerous.
It is still quite a strong high. I would go for it if you are able to get it cheap. Remember, though, it is for opioid-tolerant folks, so you should start really really low for safety's sake! And remember it has a really long half-life compared to Oxy.
For someone with no tolerance, 40mg of Methadone is way too much, also, suggesting someone work their way up from that much is rather dangerous, as Methadone can take upwards of 3 hours or more before the full potential is reached. A person with no tolerance should start at 5mg - 10mg and wait at least 3 hours before taking any more.
Dude, if he has no tolerance, that would fucking kill him. Actually, on a forum I used to frequent, we lost a member when he bought methadone from some dumb fucking junkie like you who told him to take a few since it was hard to get high on. The POINT is it doesn't get you high, and that taking more just kills you.
Oh, it absolutely get's you high, I often prefer Methadone over other opiates. But yes for someone with no tolerance, it is extremley dangerous.
Yeah. I don't know how I overlooked that 40mg thing. I pride myself as a harm-reducer. I should have pointed out that 40mg of Methadone COULD be equivalent to 400mg of Oxycodone, and I am not kidding. That is out of a hospital-used opioid dose converter. Now, of course that dose could also "only" equal 50mg of Oxycodone, depending on your tolerance and metabolism. But, 50mg of Oxy could STILL cause respiratory depression in a naive patient. So, please listen to all of us with an open set of ears, my friend!
40mg of Methodone as a starting dose is insane unless you have a tolerance to match it. Also know that Methadone will kill your roxy tolerance......
I ate 50mg of methadone with no opiate tolerance but, while I enjoyed it, it is a dangerous amount with no tolerance. I knew that, but I ate it anyway because I'm stoopit. lol
I agree. I started with a high dose as well and was not TOO fucked up. You guys are right though and I will change my post because it is wrong to suggest an entire wafer for a first timer. I myself was fine but i have high tolerance to ALL drugs. Even though I hadn't taken opiates but once or twice in my life. So I'm gonna change my original statement and suggest 10 mg and wait 6 hours before taking more if needed. and only move up 5-mg at a time. don't take more than 20 mg for the first 12-24 hrs. Oh and methadone is VERY recreational.
Methadone doesn't get you high? Your a complete idiot or you've never taken done....For me it is a much better high than Oxy (stronger as well), lasts MUCH longer and is harder to build a tolerance to. This may not be the case for everyone but to say it doesn't get you high is a fucking joke,...
For most people, the drug doesn't have as much recreational potential as morphine related opiates, and that's why it was chosen to replace them for addicts. You don't "rush", it's a different thing. No, I have never taken it, if that matters to you.
True the onset of sides is slower than most, but in an hour or two when it hits you, it HITS you. Trust me it gets you HIGH. :sunny:
I remember the first time I did methadone, I went to a movie and didn't feel anything the whole movie but when I stepped out that theater I was so fucked up i could barely walk to the car. (I had a desginated driver; Don't ever drive high.) It was a marvelous two days.
Yep it's quite a drug. I won't even mess with Oxy anymore....methadone is soooo much better. It's also nice when you run out of your scrips a few days early, a decent dose of methadone will hold off withdrawals for a solid 48 hours.
Methadone is wonderful, it definitely produces a HIGH, but its different than oxys or percs, and it lasts much longer, usually bout 3-4 hours a dose, but 5mg just starting out will NOT get anyone high!! at least 15-20mg to start off, then go from there, and you will feel the effects within 20-30 min, not 3 hours. it is actually very similar to heroin as well. it makes all yur pain go away and will give you that euphoric feeling too, and oh yea, the nods are a definite. around here a 10mg goes for about 10 bucks, depending on when you can find it, not as easy to find as roxis or percs.
My buddy has a script for methadone that he normally just sells 30 for 100ml of syrup I was told 1ml a mg but not sure
Yeah whoever said it doesn't get you high has no idea what he is talking about. It doesn't work well at all if it's snorted, never try injecting anything personally so I don't know about that. You don't really get a rush when you eat anything, so it's not surprising that you don't get one with Methadone. Everyone's body is different though, so there is variation in the time it takes to hit you, the feel of the come up, overall strength, etc. For me personally, I have a tolerance (in oxy) of about 30mg to feel anything, and about 80 or so to feel pretty good. I usually take 60mg of Methadone at a time and get just as high as when higher end dosing with oxy. I don't get as much energy as with Oxy, but I also don't get the kind of twitchy crack/meth head feeling I get with Oxy. Still takes away fatigue and lets me do whatever I want. Methadone being the only opiate I've ever been sick from, I tend not to push it's upper limit with me, so I've not gotten to the point of a really strong nod, but definitely still get the "choice nod" where your not too zoned out to actually stay awake, but can still nod off if you don't keep your guard up. As with everything be safe and careful and take a mental note of how it effects you for future reference on increasing dosage.
