I can't exactly put my finger on it, but I cannot stand this show! Whenever I say so, people act as though I have comitted treason. I'm wondering if anyone else hates this show.

I don't hate it (only seen parts of a couple episodes), but I really don't like how over-dramatic the relationships are, and how variable the acting is.

Some of the acting is so realistic and some of it's so soap-opera; I mean, they do have directors for the show, right? =P

Ugh! I dislike soap-operas so much that I want to break something when see elements of it in in a show. I also feel the characters are flat and cliched, but that's just my opinion.

Watched it, loved it. The first and last seasons are EXTREMELY dramatic. The seasons in between are just gold. I refuse to watch television anymore, because I thought it was that good.

Man I am TOTALLY with you... I can't stand it

There's only so many stupid twists and turns in the storyline until the whole thing just seems like a ridiculous charade.

That's the point. In my personal opinion, any story that I cant keep up with deserves my attention. Its not that hard to explain really. It was like a GREAT book.

The survivors landed on an island populated by indigenous locals. These locals were controlled by an outsider, which the locals mistook for their destined leader and thought it was fate that had brought him to the island. But in reality he just acts as a 'wizard of oz'. In fact, he was brought there by the greed of an organization called the 'dharma initiative', who wanted to exploit the island for its miraculous potential, and science defying geography. The survivors find hatches, stations and slowly uncover the history of the island. They learn gradually that its not as bad a place as it seems, and when they actually leave the island, they feel it pulling them back. Through flashbacks we find out the history of what brought them on the plane together, and what they are on the island for specifically. In the end it turns out that the island needs a new leader. The reason they were brought to the island is they were all 'candidates' for protecting the island in the best interest of the people populating it. Because if the people who run the island are evil in nature, the evil that is sealed in the earth by the great weight of the islands beauty will be released...and it almost was. Through sacrifice, love and true heroism they manage to get the island 'under new management', and the evil is once again kept at bay. A beautiful story really. It just speaks to the viewer's patience.

Sure there are all sorts of needless relationships and break ups and the first/last seasons acting was a bit over the top, but I stuck it out through all of it and I'm glad I did. Could be because I watched every consecutive episode high as a kite. But that's open to deliberation, as is the true meaning of the show.

I loved Lost, until the 6th season.

As the 6th season progressed, it was becomming more and more apparant that they hadn't developed much of the backstory behind the special things and powers; and so they were just making shit up as they went along. But instead of their made-up shit throwing any sense on anything, it just basically parodied the "need for answers" and made up even more shit, all the way until the end.

A very unsatisfying season for me, so much so that it back-influenced how I feel about the first 5 seasons. I don't think as well of them as I used to.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I had Lost pegged as the greatest TV show of all time (esp. after the season 5 finale; that was frighteningly good---at least at the time), and then the 6th season happened.

As the series finale approached I kept hearing the producers talking more and more about how it was a character driven show and that's what they were going to be focusing on in the finale. Well, yes it was character driven, but that's not all that it was. A great deal of the appeal was the mysteries and mythology and the people behind the show just seemed to say 'The hell with all that. We're getting the castaways off the island and the viewers will just have to sit there and like it.'

The ending was deeply disappointing. Oh well. Fun for awhile.
