First, a quick hello to everyone. Aside from a couple of intros in another sub forum this is my first actual post here, though I’ve been lurking for awhile. My first MG trip actually took place about ten days ago, but I currently don’t have internet access at home so it’s taken me until now to get this written and posted. For my trip I bought several packs of Ferry-Morse Heavenly Blues, which yielded about 300 seeds. I washed them in a container of water with a drop of dish soap for about five minutes then dried them for an hour. While the seeds were drying I drank a Bolthouse Farms smoothie (very similar to Naked Juice). The particular smoothie I drank was advertised as high in B vitamins. I was hoping that some Niacin in the mix might help alleviate the alleged vasoconstriction that often occurs with MG. When the seeds were dry I ran them through a coffee grinder and tossed them into a container of Yoplait peach yogurt. I don’t have my notes with me at the moment, but there are a few highlights (good and bad) that I would still like to elaborate on from this trip. First, I never experienced any stomach pains or nausea; none whatsoever. I don’t know if the smoothie and the yogurt buffered my stomach or if this was due to the fact that I historically have an iron gut when it comes to eating and digesting just about anything. I know other people have eaten seeds in yogurt and hurled. Unfortunately, the lack of nausea was about the only enjoyable part of this trip. An hour to an hour and a half in, I was feeling pretty euphoric and heavy (it reminded me of Xanax) but I was also beginning to experience some very uncomfortable cramping in my legs, and a bit of tightness in my arms and shoulders. This was pretty much the extent of what I felt throughout the trip. After a few hours I felt like I was coming down and the euphoria and severe leg pain gave way to what I can only describe as a very restless sensation in my arms and legs, and racing thoughts. At this point I was tired and trying to just go to sleep, which made for a very aggravating and uncomfortable situation (I tossed and turned for a long, long time). I eventually managed to get about nine hours sleep, but woke up feeling like my head was a sloshing fishbowl. That feeling lasted for a good 24 hours after I initially ate the MG. I wouldn’t discourage someone else from experimenting with MG, but I don’t think it’s necessarily for me. I realize my dose was a bit low to expect any psychedelic effects, but if body load and leg pain from this dose is any indication then there’s no way I want an increased dose. One other thing I feel I should mention: There has been a lot of debate as to whether or not store bought seeds are sprayed with pesticides or ipecac. Based on my experience, I am convinced they are not; and even if they are, the residue definitely washes right off. In any event, I do not believe that a seed company would spend the extra money to spray chemicals on the seeds of a glorified weed that sells for a dollar a pack.
Yeah, MG are very peculiar, they seem to affect everyone differently. I've had nausea everytime, but experiences were absolutely beautiful. So my personal experience says MG are true entheogen. It's very important to find the right dose, because low dose gives you the similar/same side effects, but no psychedelic effects. I've felt equally physically uncomfortable with 50 seeds and 600 seeds, the only difference being that on 600 seeds the beauty of visionary experience simply makes you forget any side effects. Granted, next morning you'll feel like shit, but it's almost always worth it.
