I have been on birth control since June/July and never missed a day so I was pretty well protected. Two days ago I missed a day and by the time I remembered I was supposed to take my pill for that day. I have doubled up'd before so to speak but I guess I saw it as useless this time, so I threw out the pill for the night before and took my pill for that day. Okay, useless rambling over... my boyfriend and I no longer use condoms, but we do use the pull out method. How long will it take for the birth control to kick in again? I know in the beginning it usually takes a month, but because I missed just a day, I'm not so sure....
I am not sure what brand of pill you're using, but for all the previous prescriptions I've had: you're supposed to take the two pills. Even if you missed one yesterday, you should take it with the one today. Because it's only a day, it really shouldn't need more time to 'kick in.' Actually, I've heard it said that you have to wait a few a weeks (months even) after taking birth control until you're able to conceive again. Either way, I wouldn't be too worried about it, but I could be wrong... so be careful.
