    Hey guys...

I have a little cactus farm. These are bridgesii.

I noticed some of them are growing rather big and tall, yet seem undeveloped. They're light green, with no detail, and have a little Y shape at the top.

Yet others are much smaller, but look much more developed. They're dark green, and I think I see little white specs where the spikes are going to grow. I uploaded a few pics for comparison.

Which one is more developed? Are the light green ones not getting enough light or something?

    Thanks!

If I had seen this earlier I would have answered.. :2thumbsup:, but I didn't, so:

The light green ones are just stretched due to some external factor (not enough light maybe?), so the green colour of the skin isn't as 'concentrated' as it is on those smaller ones.

That's what I thought, they look like they grew too fast. I wouldn't worry about it for now, just put them under more light and water them less for a bit and it should be fine.

    BTW, cute cacti babies! :2thumbsup:

they are tiny, just starting. They all look healthy, dont worry at all. Once they start stretching and showing ribs in a cylinder fashion you can judge stretch better. If you dont have red/purple seedlings, try a tad more light. Once they start turnign colour (and are hydrated) then you knwo to stop adding more bulbs.

I thought red/purple was sun burn.... means TOO MUCH light... but I could be wrong, I'm no expert.

Looks like you're using a window, and the green ones are closer, am i right? because the ones just over the divider seem the most stretched, like it's blocking more of their light.

Unrelated, but my 1.5 inch pachanoi cutting finally put out a pup... I don't think the damn thing has any roots yet, from how it wobbles if I just touch the pot (and because I knocked it over a month or so ago, and was disappointed to see no evidence of growth at all....) but at least it's making SOME grasp at life.

You are correct. Brownish red/purple means too much sunlight. When this happens with my babies I just move them out of the sun and after a week or so they start to get green again.
